Saruhiko didn't know what time it was when he heard the faint pitter patter of rain. All he knew was that his Misaki was sleeping and snoring softly with his head resting upon Saru's chest, nuzzling him, while one of Saruhiko's arms was wrapped around both of Misaki's bare shoulders.

It was raining.

The rain always reminded Saruhiko of the day when him and Misaki finally made up, for it was raining that day.

He remembered where they had made up, which was the arcade that they always used to go to in their pre-HOMRA days.

He remembers that day as if it had just happened.

Misaki was sitting in the park, drinking some kind of energy drink with skateboard in hand. It was peaceful and he was getting lost in his thoughts. Something interrupted those thoughts but he believed it was just a voice in his head until he realized it was not. A hand rested on his shoulder.

"Misaki...," the voice uttered softly.

"S-Saruhiko?," Misaki was surprised but his mind was clogged with curiosity.

"Tch," Saruhiko removed his hand,
"Um, could I talk to you for a second," Saruhiko asked with a pained expression.

"A-ah sure," Misaki spoke starting to get up with a look of confusion.

Meanwhile Saruhiko lead him in the direction of the old arcade that they used to hang out at a lot when they skipped school.

They both kept their heads down and walked wordlessly until Misaki felt a hard raindrop fall onto his head.

Saruhiko saw this and then pulled Misaki into the arcade hurriedly not risking getting his beloved sick.

"Saruhiko? What's gotten into you?," Misaki asked once the duo was in the safety of the building.

Saruhiko didn't reply, he stood there silently, leaning against the game machines, for what seemed like decades and the only thing that could be heard was the rain hitting the steel roof quite hard.

"Saruhi-"

"I love you."

Misaki's heart stopped and so did time itself. Everything went into slow motion and he couldn't hear the rain anymore.

Misaki didn't know how long he was standing there in shock. But what he did know was that all he heard was those three words, 'I love you.'

Misaki couldn't believe his ears. He couldn't believe that those were tears running down his cheeks. He couldn't believe he was running into Sarhiko, the traitor's, arms. He couldn't believe that Saruhiko was telling him how much he missed him and that he loved him this entire time and that the true reason that he left HOMRA was not to hurt Misaki, but because he was just feeling neglected and that he just wanted to be Misaki's everything once again.

He couldn't believe that his sobs were quieting. He couldn't believe that him and Saruhiko were locking eyes, blue and red. He couldn't believe that Saruhiko was leaning down to kiss him.

But these things were happening. Saruhiko was kissing him and telling him that he's completely in love with him. He actually was excepting Saruhiko's embrace and love despite their longtime feud. And then Misaki realized, how did he manage to be without Saruhiko for so long?

And all that could be heard, was the rain.

"Saruhiko?," Misaki uttered groggily.

Misaki's voice, which was laced with sleep, had brought Saruhiko back to reality from his thoughts as he went to gaze down at Misaki.

"Are you ok?," questioned Misaki as he rubbed his tired eyes.

"Ah, I'm fine," replied Saruhiko wearily as he placed a reassuring kiss on top of Misaki's ginger locks.

Misaki smiled softly at Saruhiko's actions,

"Go to sleep Saru."

Instead of obeying Misaki immediately, he rolled over on top of Misaki to press several kisses to his face. Misaki, who giggled a little in response and gave one last big kiss to Saru while cupping his cheeks said,

"Saruhiko seriously, you need to get more sleep," said Misaki brushing his thumbs against Saru's cheeks with a soft smile on his face.

Sighing in defeat, Saruhiko pressed one last kiss to Misaki's lips before he laid back down to spoon with Misaki.

"Misaki?"

"Hm?"

"I love you."

"Oh my god, shut up and go to bed already!," yelled Misaki while blushing.
