Chapter Seven: Fish

Saruhiko and Misaki both sighed in unison at Hana's antics.

"No Hana, that's too much sugar, you'll understand when you're a bit older," Misaki said while patting Hana's head.

Even though Misaki was comforting her, Hana still looked a bit disappointed.

Misaki pulled back, unsure of what to do until it hit him.

"How about I make your favorite fish for dinner?"

"Mahimahi!?" She said excitedly.

"Yes, mahimahi."

"Yay!" She squealed and jumped into Misaki's awaiting arms.

Saruhiko smiled at the heartwarming sight and motioned for them to hurry back to the house, for it was starting to get dark out.

Once the party of three made it home, Saruhiko carried Hana over to the living room and placed her on the couch so she could watch a Disney movie like she did every night, while Misaki started putting the groceries away but left out the ingredients he needed to make dinner.

"Saruhiko, go set the table."

"Huh? Why so early?"

"Isn't easier to get it out of the way instead of right before the food is done?"

Saruhiko thought for a moment and then hummed in agreement before he went to go and set the table, joining Hana on the couch, watching the typical Disney princess storyline take place, soon after while Misaki was happily cooking away.

It was about another hour and a half until the sautéed spinach, which complimented the tangy, lemon tasting mahimahi, was ready.

Hana jumped down from the leather couch excitedly and ran to the kitchen to make grabby motions with her hands for Misaki to hand her the plate with very tasty smelling fish on it, to her.

"Be very careful with this Hana," he said, sighing softly before he placed the food filled plate into her petite hands and sending her off to the table.

While Misaki was finishing up serving the dishes, Saruhiko was helping the small Hana into her booster with her plate in hand.

Once Hana was seated, Saruhiko sat in his respected chair while Misaki brought their plates over.

"Here ya go," said Misaki as he placed Saru's plate in front of him but before Misaki could sit down with his plate, Saruhiko pulled a bold move.

"Oi, you forgot something."

"Hm?"

And with that Saruhiko pulled Misaki down for a quick kiss. Misaki's face turned as red as HOMRA's Sword of Damocles as he began to walk to his seat wordlessly, mouth agape. Saruhiko on the other hand half smirked, half smiled at the adorable red-head's react-

"Thank you for the food!" Yelled Hana quite suddenly and instantly dug in, startling both Misaki and Saruhiko.

Misaki softly laughed at Hana's enthusiasm before he started to eat as well.

"Monkey, you better eat all of that."

"Yes sir," he spoke while picking up his utensils and taking his first bite.

He'd hate to admit it, but Saru actually liked this dish. One of his favorites in fact.

Once all three were finished eating, Hana went back to the living room to pick out another Disney movie while Misaki and Saru stayed behind to clean up the table and kitchen.

After cleaning came the sweet aftermath where Saruhiko pulled Misaki into his arms and embraced him tightly, kissing everywhere on Misaki's cute little head, encouraging Misaki to do the same. Misaki then hesitantly wrapped his arms around Saruhiko's neck, still a bit shy despite them being longtime lovers.

"Saruhiko," a kiss, "stop it," there came another kiss.

"Mhm, I think I'd rather enjoy," once again a kiss, "you, Mi~sa~ki."

Several more kisses came after that one until a deep, sweet kiss came right before Saruhiko elicited a sweet,

"I love you."

With such loving words, Misaki blushed furiously and hid his face in Saruhiko's chest before they both heard Hana,

"Ah!"

Misaki pulled his head away slightly with curiosity, confused at what Hana meant.
"MamaSaki and PapaSaru are so cute!"

She said yipping with glee and drawing out the "so."

Misaki then covered his face with his hands and blushed even harder.
