It seems like years since I've been outside. When in reality, it's only been, I'm guessing, 3 or 4 months. I honestly have no idea anymore. At least I haven't been in a straitjacket for a while. They can actually start trusting me again.
Some guards brought me into the lobby. Was I leaving? Am I going to finally leave this place?
"Sit down, Mr. Cooper. We need to have a word with you." I sat down in a chair in front of a desk. "Your family has been constantly calling us, wondering if you are okay,"
I had a sigh of relief sweep through my body. So they don't think I'm dead. "How long have I been here?" The man took out some papers and looked at them. "You've been here for almost 6 months."
6 months? That's how long I've been here? It seems like I've been here my entire life.
"We're deciding to finally let you visit your family again. You've been showing signs of improvement for a while." They're letting me go. I'm going to see everyone I love again. "I hope you make good choices, Alice."
"I'll call your family and let them know you're coming home." I nodded, and walked out with the guards. I got in the car, and they drove me down to my house.
When I arrived, I saw my family and friends. They all stood outside waiting by the front door. When I got out of the car, everyone ran over to me. We had a big group hug. It feels good to be back.
7 hours later...
Everyone had gone home. My wife and kids were already alseep. I couldn't sleep. Something didn't feel right. None of this feels real for some reason. I should be happy, right? I'm free. No more needles. No more straitjackets. No more bad thoughts. No more padded rooms. I should feel..... I don't really know how to feel right now.
As I looked outside of the window, I noticed something terrifying....
