My hand felt like it was getting worse. I took the bandage off of my hand and looked at it. "Oh, geez."
I couldn't wrap it back up, so I opened up my backpack to see if I had anything. Thankfully, there were more bandages, so I switched out the old one with the new one. "Ok, that's a little better, I guess." I picked up my things and continued on.
You don't even know where you're going, do you?
I rolled my eyes. "Obviously, I'm lost. But I'm at least trying, ok?"
They're gonna find you, and they're gonna kill you.
My eyes opened wide. "They... they wouldn't... would they?"
Alice, look at the facts. You've killed 11 people. Why wouldn't they kill you?
"Shut up and help me, ok?"
Just keep going the directing your walking. You'll run into a diner eventually.
A couple hours later of walking, I actually did get to a diner. I walked in and sat down at a table. It seemed like there were only 2 people working. One of the waitresses walked up to me. "Hi, how are you?"
"Let's just say today was an unforgettable day." She looked a little uncomfortable, but shook it off. "What would you like, sir?"
"I'll just have a coffee." She smiled and write it down. "Anything else?"
"Um... no, coffee is fine." She smiled and walked away.
"Ok, I'm ok. No one knows I'm crazy. I'll be ok." I started having a panic attack. My leg was moving faster than the ceiling fan. I wrapped my arms around myself to try and hold myself together. I practically had no choice but to run to the bathroom and calm myself down.
I was gasping for air. I splashed my face with cold water. "Everything will be ok. I'm fine... I'm-"
My eyes opened wide and my heart felt like it exploded. "W-where's my knife?" I probably shouldn't have said that in a public restroom, but it was empty. I poked my head out of the bathroom. The waitress was still getting my drink. I ran back to my seat, and my knife was just sitting there. I picked it up and shoved it into my bag. I grabbed the napkins and wiped the blood off of the seats.
"Uh... Excuse me, sir." My stomach dropped. Sweat was dripping from my face. "Your, uh... coffee?" I turned to look, and she handed me the coffee. "Uh... Th-thanks."
She looked down and noticed the red napkins. "Oh, did you... spill something?"
OH CRAP OH CRAP OH CRAP OH CRAP.
"Umm..."
She smiled. "Here, let me help you with that." She got a wash cloth out of her belt and reached over my lap. She wiped the rest of the blood up and walked away. She didn't notice me violently shaking? Or the fact that I was sweating up a storm? She probably thinks I'm a crack head or something.
"I just need to calm down. I'm... I'm fine. Everything is fine. I'm ok."
Hey, freak show. You may want to tone it down a notch. The waitress is staring at you.
I look up to see the waitress look away, like she wasn't doing anything.
Calm down. You're freaking her out.
"I'm sorry, okay?" I couldn't stop myself from shaking. I took a few sips of my coffee, and that seemed to relax me, so I chugged it all down. Anything to help me calm down.
