My Punishment

I felt a hand touch my shoulder and I flinched. I quickly turned around. It was another nurse. "W-what happened here?!" I stood there, staring at her. I started smiling uncontrollably again. "I killed these people. And now, I'm gonna kill you."

She screamed and ran toward the alarm, but I managed to catch up to her and tackled her. I grabbed the nearest shard of glass and shoved it into her eye. She screamed bloody murder. I then heard multiple doors open and big sets of feet running to where I was.

I stumbled, trying to run, trying to find a place to hide. I hid behind the vending machines. It was the only place that wasn't locked. I heard voices, a lot of them, too.

"Search everywhere."

"He's not in his cell."

"He's not in the bathroom."

My heart was pounding. I didn't want to find out what they'd do to me if they found me. I had to cover my mouth with my hands. I've never felt so terrified in my life.

"Where could he be?"

I thought they wouldn't check behind the vending machine, but I was wrong. They pulled out the vending machine and fear shot through my entire body.

"We found him!" I quickly tackled the guard and punched him. I did the same to the next guard. "PLEASE, I CAN'T TAKE THIS PLACE ANYMORE! LET ME GO!"

I swung at every guard, but there was too many of them. One guard behind me hit the back of my leg, making me fall to my knees. I then felt strong grips on my arms. 2 guys were carrying me somewhere. Oh crap. What's happening now?

I was taken back to the doctor's office. Tears immediately filled my eyes. I was tightly strapped down in a chair. The doctor walked in, and boy was he not happy.

"Alice, I hope you know that we are trying to help you. Killing people is wrong." I looked down. "You killed 5 people in one night? That's our new record, Alice."

He walked over to the equipment and picked out a couple of things. "I'm doing this for your own good, Alice."

I was shaking. I was sweating. I'd rather be back in my cell.

The doctor walked over to me and held something that looked like it could kill a small animal. He put them over my hands and walked over to a panel. "Please... no. I-I just wanted to-"

"Leave?" He laughed. "Don't we all?" He pulled the lever and I felt over 1,000 needles slowly press into my skin. I screamed and begged, but it went on for 15 minutes. The pain was unbearable. The more I flinched my hands, the more pain I experienced.

After that, 2 new guards walked in and forcefully pulled me out of the chair. "The next time you do something like that, your punishment will be 10 times worse."

The guards put me into another straitjacket, and took me into a different cell. It was still padded, but this time, there were chains in it. I was chained to the wall, only having about 6 feet to move around. I'd try to pull free, but the chains were too strong.

I gave up. I laid down and cried. "Why am I here? Why did this happen? Please tell me this is just a dream."
