Mia's POV

The next day was the same morning routine as it was yesterday. I decided to go with a red, baggy sweater with black leggings and converse. My mother and I parted our ways and I hung out with T.J. for a little. We didn't talk about much; mostly just shivered in the cold air. I left him my remaining food and went to school, actually on time. Lovely Sward was right at the front entrance to greet me.

"You," we said in unison in a disgusting tone.

"Don't get into any fights today, little troublemaker," she snarled.

"Well, I'll try. But I don't know, I'm a monster," I exaggerated.

"Hmmm," she growled and strolled past.

As I was finding a place to sit and read for a little while, I heard my name from behind. I reluctantly turned around to reveal Seungkwan with a bright sweater and smile.

"I don't know youuu," I half- joked.

"Did you get my text? Huh? Huh? Miiiiia!"

"You're like, five shut up, please.... I'm trying to find a seat where no one can find me," I turned to him.

"Ooh, come with me!" he grabbed my forearm and dragged me to the very back of the courtyard, "This is where I sit with all my frie-, uh, this is where I sit."

I noticed that he saved himself from saying he had friends, and it hurt my little heart. I smiled and finally decided to give into his extremely annoying friendliness.

"Cool. We can sit here... as, uh, friends," I said. I felt very awkward. He felt the opposite, obviously due to his light up eyes and little kitten smile.

"We're like BFFs!!" he said excited.

"Yeah but I still don't like you."

"I don't care. You love me secretly, I know everything."

I rolled my eyes and sat on the bench under the tree. The bench had chipped letters that said, "Follow Your Dreams!" with a bunch of graffiti over it. Seungkwan pulled out an apple and chewed away and hummed. I pulled out my book and read while tapping my foot. It was a pleasant, almost humorous silence between us.

The bell rung and we said bye and decided to meet up a lunch. I marched on over to math, dreading Vernon and his stupid friends. Mr. Monroe was right in front of the door, greeting everyone with wide and excited eyes.

"Good morning, Mia! Great day for math, right?"

"Sure."

I walked to my seat and took everything I needed out. I marked down the date and realized it was a Friday. I slumped back in my seat and sighed as Vernon walked in with Gwen. I didn't really want any more problems than I started with, so I decided to bite back the rude comment about S. Coups' stupid color choice for his outfit. Gwen, Nicole, and Celia all glared at me while I avoided eye contact.

"Alright, so today we're going to be doing some problems I set up on the board and no homework," Mr. Monroe said cheerily.

Math zoomed by fast, but I couldn't help but notice Vernon glancing at me every now and then. I couldn't really read his facial expression very well, but I shrugged it off. As I walked out of the class, I spotted Seungkwan waiting outside.

"Stop stalking me I hate you," I giggled.

He laughed, "Where are you going?"

"Science."

"With Miss Kelp?"

"Yep."

"I'm in that class!" he gasped.
