Mia's POV
Since I've concluded I'm crashing Gwen's party, I've been a mess. I've know myself as a pretty self- controlled person, but ever since all these events have occurred, I'm a wreck. I don't even know why I chose to go to her party, let alone know how I'm gonna get there.
Christmas passed, and nothing was remarkable about it. The only memorable thing was how much more of a mess my mom is than I am. I've concluded that my mom, my once beautiful mother who was a strong woman, is now a pathetic, pitiful alcoholic. On Christmas morning, she presented me with no gifts. It was understandable and I honestly just wanted to spend time with her, but instead she wallowed in self- pity and pulled out a flask. She drank until she passed out and didn't even say "Merry Christmas" or an "I love you". I know she's hurting but I don't want her to take it out like this.
But now, it's a day before New Year's Eve and at this point, I don't even know what's the point of going to Gwen's. Why start more drama in the first place? I then hear my phone ringing.
"Yeah, Seungkwan," I say as I start to doodle.
"Still up to party?"
"About that; I'm not sure if we should go."
"Don't chicken out on me. I'm coming over."
"You don't even know where I live."
"Well, where do you live?"
"Fuck you street."
"On my way," he said and ended the call.
I scoffed and dismissed the call. Around fifteen minutes, a knock came at my door. I answered it, only to find Seungkwan, grinning with some papers and a bag. I obviously was surprised with how he ended up in my home.
"Wha- How- Whe-" I startled.
He put a hand up to my face, "Hush. Don't question my ways," he walked right into my living room.
I shrugged, "Hoe why is you here?"
"Ew. And since you're too chicken to go to this damn party, I figured if I sleep over, then I can force you," he grinned evilly.
"Ugh, I'm not chicken. I just don't think there's any real purpose to going."
He searches through my refrigerator, "Your food sucks. Good thing I brought snacks."
He pulls out pretzels... a lot of them.
As he munches on them he says, "Who said there needs to be a purpose? Some things in life can be... frivolous."
I sighed, "But I don't want to be problematic."
"She's the problematic one. Just ignore her."
"Hmm."
"Alright," he sighed, "You still like Vernon, yeah?"
"Yeah?" I reluctantly said.
"Then confront the bitch about that morning and win him over if you still want him. There; a reason to go."
"I hate you, but fine."
He laughed and continued to eat.

The next day we woke up and went out to eat. Then, we killed some time until we had to go to the party. Finally, it was 6:30 and we had to get ready. He got dressed in some funky- looking button up shirt. It had some kind of pattern going up the sides. He checked himself out and smirked.
"You look like you're from the 70's."
"Your point?"
I rolled my eyes and continued to apply my make up. After fixing myself up, I went to put on my dress since it was a little more formal. Seungkwan picked it out (of course). It had cuts on the sides and was a brick red. It went to my mid- thigh and was tight, which showed off my better features. I looked hot.
