This chapter is dedicated to dance-4-ever

I whirl around, eyes landing on the robot that I had nightmares about last night. The same freakin' robot we've already encountered two times.

"Duck!" Ivy yells, snapping me out of my shocked daze.

As an instinct, my body hits the cold marble floor. The sound of two other bodies slamming against the floor ring in my ears, but seconds later the sound that rings in my ears changes to the sound of a bullet escaping the barrel of the gun.

Looking up at the robot, I realize it wasn't the one to fire a gun, but the one to get hit by a bullet. In the middle of the machine's forehead sits a big bullet hole. Wires, computer chips, and electrical sparks are what I see inside the robot's forehead from the blow.

The robot doesn't even seem fazed, taking a step towards us. In self defense, I reach down to my pants and slip out the gun I had stuck in the holster. I cock the gun, aim it at the robot, and shoot the thing with anger and resentment.

Of course, since I am not a good shot, the bullets I fire pierce the robot in many different spots on its body, while Ivy's bullets force holes into the machine's head. After at least 15 bullets are fired, the robot collapses onto the floor, pieces of metal clanking against the floor along with it.

I swear the room goes from the loud sounds of bullets and machine pieces flying everywhere, to complete silence.

The robot's body stays lifelessly still, so I decide to get off of the floor. Pushing myself to my feet, I turn around and glance at Ivy behind me. Her calm eyes stare down the barrel of her gun that is aimed at the robot for a few seconds longer, and then shift over to me as she puts it away.

"Heaven forbid you guys tell me a robot is chasing you." Ivy laughs, "That's the second one this freakin' week."

My eyes wander down to Barrett and Dean's bodies who are glued to the floor still, "Do you guys need pacifiers?"

"And diapers?" Ivy jokes along with me, smacking her hand down on the glass counter for effect, "You guys are such babies."

Both of them scramble to their feet, red cheeks and smirks on their faces. I let out a laugh for two reasons: feeling relieved that we finally got rid of that dang robot, and feeling glad to be able to have a girl around.

"You guys better go..." Ivy changes the subject when our laughter dies down. She shifts her weight and focuses her eye contact on Barrett, "The government will be on your tail."

"I have a question." I say aloud, realizing that the question I need to ask has been almost throbbing in the center of my mind this entire time. "Why exactly is the government after us?"

Dean shrugs and looks over to Barrett, so I follow his gaze. Barrett's eyes are almost in disbelief, "Isn't it obvious?... They want to get to the master."

"Why?" I question him, sneaking a glance behind me to make sure the robot is still idle. Once my eyes rest back on Barrett, he frowns.

"I'm guessing they want to see how the master does his work. They want to force him to work his magic on things that would benefit the government or something of that sort." Barrett explains, eyes carefully darting back and forth from me to Dean, "They don't like that we are more powerful then them... In fact... They don't like us at all."

"They don't like how we can do stuff they can't. They want to be in control and they want to make sure they are the superior body of people." Barrett grunts and repeats what he told us not seconds ago, "They don't like us."
