After traveling around for what seemed like hours, but was only one, we hop out of a cab at an old-timey looking shop. Barrett acts way too excited, talking about how cool Ivy is and telling us stories about her.
Of course, neither Dean or I believe him when he tells us a story that she had apparently told him about when she battled with an army of CIA agents and had left no survivors.
He just continues talking smack as he pays the cab driver and then guides us to the tinted glass door of the shop. He opens the door, it making a chiming sound because of the bell attached, and walks in first, letting us follow him inside.
In the small shop there is a glass counter that wraps around the room, displaying many different shapes, colors, and sizes of weapons such as knives and swords, along with guns, of course. The marble floor matches the white walls, and in the middle of the wall behind the counter sits a single black door.
On cue, the door swings open, and a girl steps out. She is about as tall as me. That's the only thing we have in common in appearance. She has mint-colored hair that would stand out in any room, with big eyes that are the same color as her hair, making me think she has fake mint-colored contacts in. She wears a nice black sweater that has holes at the end for her thumbs. Her tight black skinny jeans match her sweater, along with her dark eyeliner she wears to make her eyes stand out even more. She has tan skin and a small smile.
Her eyes dart from person to person, but when they land on Barrett, her face brightens, "Oh wow!! I wouldn't have woken up today expecting you to show up here, Barrett!"
"Me neither!" He laughs, walking up to the counter to pass her a huge grin, "My friends and I stopped by to get some weapons."
She tilts her head to the side as she studies Dean and I, "Who are they?"
I step up next to Barrett, smiling to the girl who looks around my age, "I'm Alexandrea Trust, but just call me Lex."
"I likey." She replies, not even seeming to notice what she said isn't something a regular person would've responded, "And what about the other sexy fellow?"
"Dean." I respond to the girl as she eyes Dean, who steps up next to me and leans his weight against the glass, his ears and cheeks a pink color.
"Well, I'm Ivy." She replies, winking at Dean with those dazzling mint eyes. Dean's face turns even redder, which makes a pang of jealousy course through my body. Not expecting to feel that way, I shake it away and try to change the subject.
"So... About those weapons..." I murmur under my breath, catching Ivy's attention.
Ivy glances at me, obviously hearing what I said, but ignores me and meets Barrett's gaze, "So... It feels weird seeing you since I've never met you in person."
"Wait," Dean says aloud, and when I turn to see him, I read his confused expression, "You two have never met? How do you guys know each other then?"
"The master." Barrett and Ivy answer at the exact same time, not even giving each other an odd glance. They seem to dismiss it like it is a regular thing.
Ivy explains to us, "Anyways... Here's a butt load of weapons." She gestures to the many weapons in the glass casing.
"And..." She continues, "I can give you guys each a small tube of seruc."
"Please." Barrett begs Ivy, her small smile reappearing on her face at the response.
"I'm going to the back to get some... You guys look around for a weapon, and since you guys are with a friend of mine, you can get them free." She laughs and turns around, "Or maybe I'll give it to you free because one of you look outstanding in jeans..."
