Taison's friends had no idea about what he was doing to Cyn. All they knew was that they were "the campus couple". Once they seen Cyn with Travis things went down hill from there.

"You and Cyn broke up?"one out of the three asked

The man's confused expression spoke for itself.

"She was walking with some nigga to class today. I thought y'all broke up." Another one spoke

Cyn walked into her dorm just as he stopped talking. Taison stared holes in her as she waved to everyone.

"You hungry?" She asked softly

"Nah. Y'all peace out." He said shooing away his company

"Alright we out." One spoke as they all gave Taison a handshake

Once the door closed he attacked her. After each blow yelling for her to stop screaming. She tried to block his blows which only mad him angrier.

"Tell that nigga clean your ass up." He spat before walking away leaving her in her own puddle of blood

She couldn't move. Her body was numb and her eyes were close to closing. After countless times of trying to get up she made it to her feet still wincing every few seconds. Once she made it to the room she eyed Taison before walking into the bathroom.

She stared over her bloody, bruised, battered body letting tears flow from her eyes. She could hear Taison getting up from bed so she looked away from the mirror and wiped her face.

"Clean yourself up cynnie." He used her nick name he had given her all those years ago

She nodded continuing to look away. He sighed and stepped away. The woman stepped out of her blood soaked clothes and turned on the shower. The water burned her cuts adding to the flow of tears that left her tired eyes.

Later that evening she found herself cleaning her own puddle of blood from the kitchen floor. Taison watched from the couch as she tried to contain her coughing as her crying spell from early continued on.

"Cyn stop it." He sighed irritatedly

She gave up and dropped the brush she was scrubbing with and ran into the room. He hated seeing her this upset. He didn't always mean to lash out on her but it always seemed to happen.

"I'll be back!" He yelled leaving out

The morning came and there was still no sign of Taison this meant that Cyn would have a good morning. She dressed warmly although it was 100 degrees outside. She was hiding her scars. Her limbs still hurt and pain still pulsed through her veins.

She left a few minutes early knowing that she couldn't fight through the pain well enough to make it to class on time if she left at her normal time.

"Cyn." She knew this time as Travis approached her

She shook her head and turned away from him before she spoke.

"Travis can we talk later." She managed to croak out

Her voice was gone due to screaming at the top of her lungs as she was beat senseless.

"You okay." He asked as she looked around

"I just want to be alone. Can I have that please? We'll talk later." She asked walking faster leaving him behind

He knew something was wrong he just couldn't figure it out yet. Cyn's day consisted of constant test but it was much better than being home. Her limbs still were in pain but if she were to show it she be sent to the nurses office and Taison would be exposed.

Which after a while didn't seem so bad. She pushed her thoughts away as she entered the house.

"Hey baby." Taison greeted her

"Baby? Is it our anniversary?"

"No. You scared me last night when you just laid there. I'm just trying to get it together." He sighed

She nodded knowing he was feeding her bullshit. He knew that she didn't believe him.

"To prove it. Have all the friends you want. Boy girl it doesn't matter just forgive me."

A lightbulb went off. Travis.

"Just not that nigga from the other day." He laughed

Her face fell as she nodded.

"What?"

"Nothing baby."

"Why you get all sad and shit?"

She shook her head.

"You like him or some shit?!"

"No. He's the only male friend I have."

"He trying to get in your pants Cyn."

She almost laughed at dumb he sounded. Travis didn't want any of that. He was genuine. At least she thought so.

"He's a good person Tai. Just please." She grabbed his hand softly

"No Cyn. Dammit." He growled snatching his hand away

"Okay."
