The morning came faster than Travis expected considering he spent the rest of his night thinking about what say to Cyn. He rose from his bed emerging from yet another 15 minutes of debating on what to say. He brushed his teeth throughly and threw a handful of water on his face before stepping out into the hall.

The man took a deep breath before knocking on her door.

"Yes?" The woman's morning voice was music to his ears

"Can we talk?"

"Come in Trav." She opened the door before dragging herself back to the bed

"Last night. What happened?"

She peaked at him before sitting up fully. Her hair was beyond wild and a T-shirt he was guessing was Taisons hung from her shoulders.

"Nothing. You showed me an amazing song that I thought nothing was wrong with so I expressed that."

"Really?"

She nodded

"You don't have to lie to me ya know."

"I'm not." She relied quickly caught off guard by his remark

"Well maybe you didn't but your not telling everything."

"What do you think happened?"

"I showed you a song about my ex and you became jealous."

Her face flushed slightly as she played with her fingers that sat in her lap. He read her like a book.

"So what?" She asked lowly

"Don't be ashamed. I like you too. I mean it's obvious."

"Obvious because you let me stay here?" She asked in an almost hurt tone

"Well part of that bu-"

"I'm not staying her for free anyway." She said grabbing 1000 dollars from her dresser drawer and throwing it in his lap

"What's this?" He asked picking it up

"Rent." She simply stated

This wasn't nearly enough for half of the rent but he wasn't going to rain on her parade.

"You don't have to pay. I told you that."

"But I don't want no scratch that. I refuse to leach off of you because you said it was okay. I was raised better than that just know you'll be getting 1000 a month from me until I can move out. I'll also be filling up the fridge since I'll be cooking." She laughed at the last part

"If you insist. But about that cooking. Breakfast?"

"Sure Trav. What'd you like?"

I all honesty he want you say "you" but he reframed from the rush.

"It doesn't matter."

"It'll be ready in 20."

"Deal." He made his way to the door

"Travis?"

"Yea." He turned back to look over her

"Thanks."

"No need to thank me."

She smiled as he walked out the room. She stretched still kinda surprised at the conversation that just took place. She kicked her legs over the covers making something fall out of the bed.

She looked over the bed and saw the small bundle that she'd gave Travis.

"This guy."

Meanwhile...
"Candy!" Taison yelled for the second time

"What damn?! I just got home."

"You been gone all night! Where the fuck you been?!"

"Don't start that yelling Taison okay I was at work. Who you think pay for this big ass house cause your broke ass don't."

"I'm going with you tonight. Finna find out why your ass always gone!"

"I leave at 8 so you better learn how to use the crutches cause I ain't finna be dragging you around the club."

"Shut your ass up!" He raised his hand but she didn't flinch

"Hit me Taison. I'll send your ass back to jail." She threatened patting her cheek telling him to hit her right there

"Move Candy."  He pushed her slightly walking by

"Pussy nigga."

Back with Cyn....
"Breakfast is ready!" She yelled setting his plate up at the island

She's made potatoes and shrimp. After waiting for Travis to come down he finally cut the corner, his face lighting up at the sight.

"Why didn't you take the money?" She asked stuffing a potato cube in her mouth

"I did." He lied

"You don't have to lie to me ya know." She mocked

"Where'd you get it?"

"Work." She simply replied stuffing her mouth fully of hot potato to avoid further questioning

Awkward silence engulfed the duo so as soon as they were done she washed their plates and avoided him for the rest of the day.

It was almost 7 so the preparation was beginning. She was about to feel beautiful once more. 3 times a week, 4 hours a night.
