Arshi's POV
I gazed at the inky, black sky, the wind in my hair. The trees rushed past, the moon following our car. My heart still thumped hard in my chest. Then I felt a gentle sqeeeze in my hands, where they were interlocked with his. I looked into those eyes, blue and shining.
"Abhi told me." He said, "I was terrifed. I could not lose you."
"I am sorry Niall, so sorry. I should have told you earlier."My voice trembled, my eyes trained onto my lap. I was a terrible person.
"Hey, its all okay now." The softness in his voice made my heart go into overdrive.
"But your face....." He slyly remarked.
I felt my cheeks heat up. "You expect me to stay calm after you start bellowing like that?" I scoffed. I remembered the bewilderment I had felt. I had told him I was getting married to someone else and he had started laughing. Just like that. His blue eyes had crinkled and he had doubled up. Fifteen minutes later, when his laughter had finally stopped, he had told me. That evil leprechaun had already asked my hand in marriage. And my parents had agreed. How, was still a mystery to me.
The butterflies returned, when I realised I was getting married to this beautiful boy who had stolen my heart with one look from those blue eyes.
"I could have never left you, you know." He said, after a while. "Even if you did get married to someone else, I would have fought tooth and nail to get you back." I looked into those eyes, full of love and care and my insides warmed. I smiled and leaned in to peck him on the cheek, sliding my head down and resting in to his shoulder, our hamds still entwined.
The lights burned bright and I had an urge to throw up the picnic lunch we had had. But Niall had especially made it for me and I could not hurt him like that. And anyways, since when is someone scared to enter their own house? Niall rubbed gentle circles on the back of my hand and we sat there, parked in the driveway.
"What if they throw me out? What if it was all a ruse?" I mumbled.
"Arshi, look at me." He wispered huskily and I obediently turned towards him. He leaned forward and rested his forehead aganist mine, our noses almost touching. "Its going to be fine." He said, his breath fanning my face, making me giddy. And then his lips touched mine. They felt warm and soft aganist mine, sending jolts of electricity through my body. I felt lightheaded, as my hands moved on their own accord, entwining my fingers through his dirty blonde hair. My heart beat hard in my chest, realizing I was kissing my boyfriend, sitting in my parents driveway. Then it hit me. He was not my boyfriend anymore. He was my fiancee.
