The next morning was a ball.
Abraham finally left, thank goodness, he apologized very deeply for having to go, but I couldn't stop smiling at the thought of him leaving. I know it's rude, but I wasn't very fond of Abraham and all his questions. I had talked to Nolan last night as Abraham left about my little clothing issue. He told me that he would pick up some clothes from my house.
And he left.
Again.
Just like that.
I started to realize he might not like me. He may think I was an immature little child who only thinks about herself.
But I'm not.
I care about my mom, amazingly, I do. I care about Nolan, whether he cares or not. Sure, I care about me, but who doesn't?
There was a knock at the door.
It echoed through the house, and faintly reached my ears while I sat in the living room. Curiosity washed over me, I debated whether or not to answer it, or not.
In the end I was just too curious.
My feet led me to the giant cherry wood french doors. Another knock sounded from the massive doors. My hand crept slowly to the door, afraid, my hand landed on the knob, clutching it.
I turned the knob.
The door opened.
No one was there.
I stepped out of the threshold, and onto the porch.
A bam.
Something hit the back of my head.
My vision went black.
_______________
Colors swam in front of my eyes, and I squinted. The light came from a bulb swinging above me, it was attached to a gray concrete ceiling, that was identical to the walls I could see. No windows, all stark gray walls. To my left was a door, the light was dim, so I couldn't see anything in the room.
I believe I had been kidnapped.
Voices wafted in from a room beside me.
"Why would he have a girl in his home, let alone a human?" The voice was deep, masculine.
The next voice was a little less deep, but definitely still a man, "I don't know, but something's been going on at that house lately. He doesn't hunt, and he doesn't come out at night."
The first man sighed, "Hopefully he doesn't kill us when he finds out that we killed her."
Killed me?
Oh yeah, no heartbeat or breathing.
Forgot.
Less deep voice spoke again, "He won't find out. He doesn't even know who we are, let alone where we are."
My hope soared, they thought I was dead and they had underestimated Nolan.
Bad choice.
"Maybe she was his own personal blood bag?" Deep voice asked.
I heard a chair scrape across the floor.
"No, no," It was girl voice, "She doesn't have any bite marks anywhere."
A moment of silence.
"How do we know she doesn't have any anywhere?"
They laughed, one a deep, throated laugh, the other a cold, unforgiving laugh that sent chills down my spine.
Girl voice spoke, "I say we check."The other chair scraped back, I snapped my eyes closed.
Their heavy footfalls echoed in the small room I was in.
"She's pretty isn't she?" It was deep voice.
Girl voice agreed.
I felt a grubby, cold hand grip my bare lower arm.
"She's wearing his clothes?" Girl voice asked.
"Seems so," Deep voice said.
He gripped my other arm, lifting them above my head. I remained limp, and decided that until they make a move to remove any clothing I wouldn't kill them.
But if they did remove my clothing.
They were in for a hell of a time.
Another hand grabbed the hem of my shirt, and pulled it over my head so swiftly I didn't have time to react.
Time for them to die.
I focused, and squeezed my eyes shut more. I clenched my fists.
Control.
"What the-"
They flew across the room, slamming into the walls. I scuttled up. One man, who I assumed was deep voice, was buff, really buff, and was actually pretty hot, but he had nothing on Nolan. The other, girl voice, was a scrawny-looking redhead.
They both growled.
I bolted from the room, faster than I thought possible. Doors and halls moved past me in a blur. I took a turn, and smelt rain, like outside.
I ran that direction.
An angry roar sounded behind me.
I doubled my pace somehow, and drifted around corners. Finally, I noticed a door, but it had a window in it, and through the window I saw outside. I ran toward the door, not slowing for a second.
I burst through the window in the door, shattering the glass. It splintered around me, and time seemed to slow to a crawl. I saw the glass shards fly into the air, defracting the light around me in beautiful rays. Time resumed around me to a normal pace, and I was left standing outside the door. I looked back, finding deep voice hurtling at me at supernatural speeds, long fangs fully extended.
He flew backward.
I ran again.
I ran down a gravel road, there were no other building besides the large industrial building I had just burst out of.
I ran, and ran, I ran until there was a strain on my legs I could no longer ignore. My foot landed in a pothole.
My ankle twisted.
I felt myself fall to the ground.
I skidded to a stop 10 feet away from where I had tripped.
Blood ran out of my cuts, and mingled with the gravel beneath me, which reminded me too much of my mother.
2 men hurled themselves at me.
Each had a 2 equally sharp, equally deadly, fangs.
I had 2 seconds to react before they were upon me.
I wasted 2 seconds being too horrified.
The first ones fangs ripped into my neck, pulling out a scary amount of flesh as he withdrew. The other one grabbed my arms and pinned them behind my back. He pushed me onto my knees in front of deep voice.
Deep voice stuck his hand around my neck and squeezed. I felt a snap, and heard it, for it echoed around in my skull like a yell in a cave.
A vein popped out on deep voice's face. He seemed strained. I felt my vision going black, perhaps he was trying to remove my head from my body, I might never know.
A shout.
My hands were released.
Deep voice let go of my neck.
He ran.
I looked behind me, and screamed.
Behind me, laying on the ground was girl voice, his head popped off, blood pouring out of him.
Standing over him was Nolan.
