x. drunk boys

the boys took louis out. ever since the hiatus started louis didn't ever properly go out and have fun. louis thought going on the subway was fun, but the boys thought differently. it was 3 in the morning and the boys were all in harry's car driving around. no one knew where to go so their plan was to drive around until they saw a bar that was open. harry wasn't going to be drinking since he was 20 and he was their designated driver.

they drove for an hour and a half until they stumbled upon a bar that was still open. "the tipsy tonic? what kind of name is that?", niall joked as harry pulled into the parking lot. "i've been here before. it's not that bad.", louis said as the car stopped.

they all got out and went towards the entrance. the bar was pretty full which was unusual because it never was at this hour. the boys passed by people who were taking shots and a bachlorette party that was going on. they all headed towards the bar and called the bartender over who was all to familiar to louis. "oi matt.", louis said happily as the two shook hands. matt smiled, "how's it been. haven't seen your face in a while.", he replied, looking at the other boys. "you brought your friends, i see."

the boys introduced themselves to matt and they all got along. within 20 minutes of being there, all the boys were drunk as can be. except harry. he was sitting by the bar, drinking water while going through twitter. niall dragged the rest of the boys towards the bachlorette party and were now having drinks with them and seemed to be enjoying it. harry would occasionally look back at them, making sure they weren't doing anything stupid. but right when they started doing body shots he just gave up.

"mr. lonely i see.", someone said. harry looked up from his phone to see a girl behind the counter. it was another bartender that they didn't see earlier. "you can say that i guess.", harry answered, making the girl laugh.
"harry." she smiled, "maybellene, but since you're pretty handsome you can call me may." harry chuckled as he looked back at her. "are you flirting with me?" she smiled, "if being friendly is equivalent to flirting then i guess so."

the two spoke for a while. the rest of the boys were having a good time with their new lady friends and louis was enjoying it as well. but maybellene was still on his mind. he looked over at harry. he was a few feet away, talking to a girl. louis smiled, not surprised. he tried to make out her face but couldn't because harry was blocking her. "drinks are on me!", yelled niall, making everyone including louis cheer.

harry looked towards them before rolling his eyes. "guessing those are your friends?", maybellene asked, harry nodding. "sadly yes.", he joked as maybellene smiled. "you have a beautiful smile.", harry said, smiling as maybellene blushed. "now are you flirting with me?", she asked, raising an eyebrow and crossing her arms. "well if giving someone a compliment is equivalent to flirting then i guess so.", harry smiled, making maybellene laugh in the process.

"oi harry!", yelled niall, who had an arm around a drunken zayn. harry turned back and saw the boys already by the door. he turned back to maybellene who was writing numbers on a napkin. harry smiled as she handed it to him. "talk to you soon.", she smiled as harry got up. he gave her a cheeky smile as he thanked her for their conversation as he helped niall and zayn walk out the door. louis and liam were already waiting at the car. they all climbed in, the rest of the boys in the back and louis in the passenger seat. "so who's your girlfriend?", louis cheered, making the curly haired boy smile as he backed out.
"she's not my girlfriend. yet.", he answered, making louis giggle. "you are so wasted.", harry scoffed. louis giggled again as he leaned back in his seat. his heavy eyelids closed and he soon fell asleep; dreaming about the girl he fancied most that rode the subway.
