subways :: louis tomlinson au

x. staring

louis sat down today. he was sitting a few seats away from maybellene who seemed to be very indulged in the subway's route book. but inside she was screaming because louis finally sat down even if it sounds like the weirdest thing to be happy about. he was looking down at the floor lost in his thoughts. he was thinking about how his band mates were doing as well as the fans. it's been 6 months now; the midway point of the hiatus and louis was longing for work. he just wanted to get back to doing what he enjoyed and never stop. but he also didn't want to go back to work. because he knew if he did, he wouldn't see 2 a.m subway girl anymore and the thought of that made him frown. 

he looked at her. she was still reading the book, her eyes scanning one of the pages. her hair was up in a ponytail but some short strands hung loosely over her ears. louis thought she was beautiful. she had normal brown eyes but to louis it was the most lovely pair of brown eyes he has ever seen. her cheeks were enhanced by small amounts of blush and her lips stood out with a burgundy colored lipstick. louis fancied this girl. he fancied her a lot. so much that he didn't notice that maybellene had made eye contact with him 2 minutes ago and is still staring at him. he felt his face turn red.

"um, i-i-i i'm sorry. i-i-i just- um- well-", he stuttered out, straightening his posture and clearing his throat. "-i didn't mean to stare at you, i swear i'm not a psychopath plotting your death."

"i mean i didn't think that you were but thanks for the reassurance.", she laughed, closing the book and leaving it on the seat next to her. 

louis laughed too and his heart warmed up. he finally heard her voice. he loved it. "yeah. but i am sorry for staring.", he apologized.

"it's okay.", she said. "and if it makes you feel any less guilty, i stare at you quite often as well."

louis eyes grew big as he let out a soft chuckle. "oh really? well then, i guess we're even?"

"yeah, i guess so.", maybellene smiled. then it went back to silence.

it remained silent for the rest of the ride until they were coming up to maybellene's stop. she was holding onto the bars as she waited at the exit. louis was 3 seats away from her when the subway stopped. "i'm lo-.", he began to say but he was cut off by the operator who was saying that they were on the corner of 27th and klein. maybellene got off, not hearing louis. the doors closed and the subway started to move again, louis being the only passenger left. he sunk his his seat and put his hands in his pockets. he smiled.

"she stares at me too."

(this was short as fudge sUE ME PLS. im currently kind of on writer's block so if any of you have like ideas pls share them i'll love you forever. and ever. but anywhale, tomorrow is my bday WHOOP WHOOP[december 4] and yo girl liz is turning 14 aYYEEEEE. imma stay home all by myself and eat cake and watch some netflix. hope you guys enjoyed this short ass chapter even though it sucked ass, i promise i'll try and make the next chapter long as fudggeeee. okay, love you comment& vote and all that good shiz bYYYYEEE)
