By the time I was back the common room was empty, I assumed everyone was already asleep in their dorms. I too was so tired but I just couldn't help but reply our conversation over and over in my head. I couldn't believe Snape had been so cocky!
But now I knew that he wasn't completely repelled by me which meant there was still hope to break him, I just had to push harder.
Luckily for me my first period class just happened to be with Professor Snape.September 3rd 1995
When I arrived with Harry, Ron and Hermione the door way to Snape's class was extremely crowded and everyone was chattering on, confused to why no one was going inside. After a while of talking amongst ourselves, I finally took it upon myself to step away from they boys and Hermione and see what was going on.
"What's happening." I asked one of the Gryffindor boys who was blocking the doorway.
"The rooms flooded." He replied simply.
"What are you talking about?"
"Looks like he's knocked a bucket over and the place is soaking, half the class is inches deep in water he can't expected us to work in there, we'll all end up in the hospital wing by the end of the week."
It was then I remembered the events of last night and how in a rage I had kicked over the bucket, obviously flooding Snape's class in the process.
"Where is Snape anyway, what has he said about it?"
"He's not here yet but I can bet you a galleon that he won't be pleased." I gave a nod to the boy and went back to join the trio. I barely had time to inform them of the circumstances before the whole corridor fell silent as Snape approached.
"What are you all doing standing out here." He boomed. "Hurry up, get in the class and get sorted, take your books out." He demanded.
"There may be a problem sir." The boy bravely announced.
"What!" He snapped.
"S...See for yourself, sir."
The young Gryffindor moved out of his way as Snape pushed though into his classroom.
You could feel that everyone knew that Snape would go off his head any second now, we all braced ourselves.
But for nothing... the only sounds that came from Snape as he entered the soaked class was a long moment of pause, a loud grunting sigh and then slushing footsteps as he waded back through the water and out the door again to meet his class. I watched as he ran a slightly aggravated hand through his hair before lifting his head again to face his pupils.
"Right." He took another deep breath obviously trying to keep him self composed. "It appears our usual classroom his currently out of use and we'll have to relocate, follow me." He sighed once more.
"I don't understand, sir?" A tidy looking Slytherin boy asked. "It's only a bucket of water, can't you just use a spell to clean it up?"
Snape spun on his heel to talk to the boy. "But you see, Mr Maison, there was already a spell on that bucket of water so that it never empties, therefore when the bucket was tipped over the water continuously poured out. Luckily we're on the bottom floor of the whole school could have ended up flooding, unluckily the floor boards will now have to replaced, with the amount of water it's most likely that they'll have splintered and started moulding." He explained, giving me a glare from the corner of his eye. He knew it was me.
"So then why hasn't the rest of the dungeons been flooded? Surely the water would have leaked into the corridor."
"I am not so stupid as to let that happen Maison; It is a potions classroom things will be spilled. I have placed a charm on my door so that any liquids that have been spilled - which could possibly be incredibly dangerous to the school or study body - are kept inside the room. The door has a water tight seal." He went on. "Understand?"
The Maison boy nodded sheepishly.
"Good, so don't ask any more questions." He snapped before walking on again with the class following hurriedly behind. We followed him around the dungeons and the ground floor of Hogwarts for the next 15-20 minutes before Snape declared there was no empty class rooms we could occupy.
"Class dismissed." He announced and in a rush of delight everyone hurried from his presence.
As the trio and I attempted to leave I felt a tight grip clench around my bicep. I stopped in my tracks and turned around to face Snape. He was inches away from me. Without speaking a word he pulled me aside, slightly round the corner. I knew the trio would wait on me even though I didn't really want them to.
