I must have fallen asleep while crying because when I woke up and checked the time I had been gone almost an hour, I had missed fifth period. I was going to just return to the common room and not bother with my classes for the rest of the day, but it was my first class with Snape and I couldn't miss it. I really couldn't be bothered dealing with anyone right now but I knew I had to go.
I peeled myself off the floor and made my way to the sinks. My eye make-up was smudged all over my face and I didn't have time to go back to my dorm and get my make-up, I was already late for class. I washed all my foundation from my face and dried my eyes trying to rid the redness from where I had cried. It was still quite obvious that I had been crying especially with all my makeup off but I had no other choice and I had to go.

By the time I reached the dungeons I was 15 minutes late and the old wooden door was completely shut. I was nervous but I tried to act confident and walked purposefully into the classroom. Everyone was already silent but when I entered the whole class stopped what they were doing and turned to look at me. I smiled acting like nothing was wrong and sashayed my way over to the empty seat at the back of the room.
I heard Snape cough and I could almost feel him staring at me but I pretended like I hadn't noticed and threw myself onto the chair.
"Miss Dumbledore." He droned. "Care to explain why your late for my class?"
"Not really, no." I shrugged.
"Don't you dare come into my class nearly 20 minutes late and then talk to me in such a manner, look at me and tell me." His voice was calm but his tone was threatening. I moved my hair out of my face and pulled my fringe behind my ears. I stared him dead in the eyes, my lips pursed sourly. I watched him as his eyes met mine and his face fell a little, he faltered for a moment then regained his composure as I started to talk.
"I was late because I struggled to find my way here from Herbology, ok? I'm sorry if I find it hard to find my classes on my first day." I lied, and I noticed the eyes of Harry, Ron and Hermione staring at me in confusion. They knew I wasn't in Herbology I was supposed to be in their class but obviously I didn't show up. I avoided eye contact with them and continued to stare at Snape.
"Very well, just don't be late again or it's detention for you." He caved and went back to scribbling on some paper. I knew he was all just talk, so I decided to push him further.
"You'd love that wouldn't you." I muttered quietly, but still enough for him to hear which meant the full class could too. A few people gasped.
"I'm sorry?" He sneered.
"Oh I just said that you'd love to give me detention. Creepy old guy stuck in a room all night with a pretty young girl. bit cliché though, I have to say."
"That's enough, Miss Dumbledore, and it certainly isn't appropriate to say in a classroom."
"Oh I'm sorry I thought it was common knowledge or do some of the students not know your a massive perv?" I smirked as I watched his face turn red, almost purple. It must be so frustrating to be accused of something but actually be the victim, But I was just getting started.
"Miss Dumbledore!" He screamed. "This is highly inappropriate, you should not speak to your teacher in such a tone."
"Sorry." I rolled my eyes. "But it's not hard to believe is it?"
He was practically shaking with anger now.
"Detention!" Was all he could scream, he was speechless.
"Sure." I agreed sarcastically, and winked at him as he made his way over to some of the students at the front of the class.
Harry, Ron and Hermione all turned around and made their way over to me with making it so obvious to Snape.
"What were you thinking?" Hermione gasped. "Do you have any idea what Snape will do to you?"
"Oh don't worry I can handle him, he's all talk. If anything him giving me detention proves my point and if people don't believe me the idea has certainly been planted in their heads."
"You're crazy, he'll kill you." Ron commented.
"I know my way around him." I winked. "We spent some time together over the summer."
"That must have been Hell." Harry jumped in.
"Something like that." I smiled.
The trio jumped away almost instantly when they caught sight of Snape roaming the classroom to test everyone's potions.
I raised my hand and waited until Snape looked over in my direction.
"Em, Sir, you haven't actually told my what we're doing today and I can't make my potion. A teacher failing to provide work to his students certainly won't please my grandfather." I put n my sickly sweet voice and my cheesiest smile.
"I also don't imagine your grandfather would respond too well with his beloved granddaughter giving me cheek and feeding false information to my pupils." He sneered, walking over to me and standing by the edge of my desk.
"It's not false if it turns out to be true." I whispered, stroking his hand lightly before he snatched it away from the desk.
He was too uncomfortable to make a smart remark and simply handed me a potions book and pointed to the potion we were making. Luckily it was one I was an expert at making and coincidently Snape and I had made not even a week earlier.
I got set to work straight away and unsurprisingly I was finished before most people who had started before me. Hesitantly and reluctantly Snape made his way over to me to test the effect of the potion. He tried to budge me out of the way so he could stand in front of the cauldron but I refused to move and ended up pressed up against him, watching him as he nervously stirred the liquid. I looked up at him batting my long lashes, when he noticed Snape stepped away from me and the potion and cleared his throat as if he needed something to focus on instead of how uncomfortable I was making him.
