I was to emotionally exhausted to make it all the way up to my dorm and ended up falling asleep on the couch in the common room. I was awoken the next morning with a ramble of people leaving for breakfast. I stirred, finally rousing from my rest, when I felt the end of the sofa sink down and someone's warm hand began to shake me awake. I rubbed my eyes and sat up, looking to see who had woke me up. It was the last person I wanted to see first thing in the morning.
He ran a hand through his bleach blonde hair and gave me a sincere smile.
"How are you feeling?" He asked.
"Draco." I gasped, not knowing what to say.
I knew what I had to do but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
"Where did you disappear to last night. After you fainted I never saw you." I jumped up from the couch moving away from him.
"I didn't feel like staying at the party. Not after what I saw." I said, shaking my head, flinching away from my boyfriend when he attempted to comfort me.
"What did you see?" He pretended like he was completely oblivious to his own actions and that only made me angrier.
"Are you serious, Draco?" I shouted. He looked stricken and confused.
"What?" He spoke softly.
"I saw you Draco... with her. With Pansy Parkinson." I screamed, my voice cracking slightly.
He blanched, his face draining of colour, and looked away refusing to meet my eyes.
"I...I can explain." He stuttered.
"Really? Because I doubt there is anything you can say that will persuade me to forgive you." I started. "I saw you dancing and snogging with that pig faced bitch, and there is no way you can convince me there was any other reason behind it than the fact you wanted to hurt me."
"That's not true I didn't want to hurt you."
"Why else would you have done it?"
"I...I only started seeing Pansy because you were never around. You were always off with Snape or studying, you never spent time with me. I was lonely, I need affection, Aria." He pleaded.
My heart paused for a second at his words, I caught my breath and registered what he was saying.
"You're seeing Pansy?" I mumbled.
"well...erm...I mean..."
"I thought it was just a one time thing. How long have you being seeing her? Have you been together this whole time?" I cried.
"No. It was only when you took up the apprenticeship."
"But... she must know we were still together." I questioned.
"Yes, we all promised to keep it quiet."
"What do you mean all? Did everyone know?" It was then Draco realised he had slipped up again.
"Well, Blaise and Crabbe and Goyle found out eventually." He mumbled.
"So everyone knew! You must have all been laughing at my ignorance behind my back. I can't believe I have been so stupid."
"Oh come on, don't be like that. I don't really want to be with her, I was only using her for company. It's you I want, I've always wanted to be with you."
"So now you're not only lying to me but to Pansy as well. Do you have no respect for other people feelings?"
"Of course I do, I never wanted you to find out. I was going to end it as soon as you stopped this stupid apprenticeship and spent more time with me."
"Are you joking? I have to do this Draco, It helps for my future, and all youre worried about it spending time with me. If you really liked me you would make the most of the time we have together. This is the first time that Snape's been willing to have an apprentice, I should be honoured."
"And that's another thing, I think you should watch yourself with him." He warned.
"What?" I shouted.
"He's too close to you, before you came he wouldn't talk to anyone, he refused for years to accept Dumbledore's request for an apprentice and now you come along he's desperate."
"What are you trying to say?" I interrogated. "It's probably only because I'm Dumbledore's granddaughter, he would have been forced to do it."
"It never stopped him before. And if he didn't want to take you on then he wouldn't be taking you out of class every chance he got. And there is no way he had a justified reason to call on you during the party."
"Maybe not, but it certainly worked out for you didn't it."
"I just think you should stay away from him for a while."
"I don't know what you're suggesting, Draco." I huffed, my face turning slightly red.
"I'm saying there may be a reason he is spending so much time with you."
"Come off it Draco." I warned. "He's not like that. And besides you're trying to turn this on me. You were the one who betrayed me, you were the one who cheated, you are the one who should be blamed." I screamed.
"Please, Aria, come on. Give me one more chance, I want to be with you." He begged.
"Not happening." I scoffed. "For the first time ever, I really liked someone and look where it got me! I'm done. I'm not doing this anymore, I'm tired of being hurt." I cried. "It's over, Draco." I finalised, walking away from him and storming up to my dorm.
