Im so sorry this has taken so long I've just been so busy recently. I know this isn't the best chapter but I promise you it will start to get interesting from here on out. - AS394
From the moment I left Severus that night I was determinded to fix things for him, so straight away I set off to find my grandfather. I couldn't exactly tell him of what happened between the two of us after we left his office but I spoke my mind to him about how I thought it was wrong for him to treat Severus the way he did. Dumbledore, however, wasn't so easily persuaded as I would have hoped and he didn't quite understand my sympathy towards the potions master.
"I need to speak to you about professor Snape." I demanded, barging through my grandfather's office door to find him still sitting at his desk.
"Aria." He grinned. "I didn't expect you back here so soon." He was startled by my sudden outburst but he didn't let it show.
"What you're doing to Professor Snape isn't right, you can't treat him like this!" I shrieked, yanking a chair from the oppsite side of Dumbledore's desk and flopping down on it.
"Excuse me?" He said, taken aback by my harsh tone and his smile began to fade.
"I thought about what you said and I think it's comepletely unfair how you're treating him." I tried to calm myself down but seeing my grandfather's ignorance only angered me more.
"I'm not sure I know what you mean." He removed his half-moon glasses and put down the papers he had previously been reading, casping his hands on the desk infront of him.
"All he's ever done is been loyal to you and what does he get in return? absolutely nothing." I began.
"Now, Aria, wait a minute, I'm not sure you know what you're talking about." He tried to explain himself, finally realising what I was talking about.
"Don't I? You're treating Snape like shit and it's killing him." I no longer cared about what I was saying to my grandfather I just had to make him listen to me. "You're treating him no better than a slave."
"Now listen, Aria, there's something I haven't told you, you don't understand, Severus and I-"
"I understand fine, I know all about it." I quickly cut off Dumbledore.
"But how-"
"Snape has to do everything you ask without question, no matter how much it puts him at risk. And it's not going to get better from here on out, with Voldemort back he's going to have two people controlling him, ruling his life, no wonder he's the way he is." I continued to shout, not caring what my grandfather had to say.
"Aria, I'm sure if Severus ever had any objection to the things I ask him to do then he would be more than happy to tell me himself." Dumbledore tried to keep his usual calm soothing tone.
"That's just the thing though, he can't, can he? Tell me honestly, if Snape came to you and asked to stop all of this, would let him?" Dumbledore heistated for a moment trying to think of what to say.
"Severus promised his life to me, Aria, I saved him, he owes me. What Severus is doing isn't just for my benefit, if we succeed and bring down Voldemort then we will have helped saved all of Wizard kind."
"And in doing so you will have completely ruined Snape's life."
"Aria I don't know what has gotten into you, since when have you ever cared about Severus." He looked at me suspisiously.
"I don't." I snapped abruptly. "But I'll be damned if I just sit back knowing what you're doing to him. He can't handle this all on his own. It's too much for any person to take."
"Aria, he has been handling this fine for a great number of years and he's never bothered about it before."
"Don't you see that he has but he's not exactly going to tell you that, is he? I'm putting a stop to this now grandfather, you can't let this continue."
"I'm afraid Aria, I can't do anything to stop it. Even if I had to say to Severus he no longer has to work for Voldemort, what happenes then? Severus if one of his most loyal followers, he will not let him go easily and without reason. It is far safer for him to continue to work for the order while posing as one of his followers. I'm sorry, my dear, that's just the way it is." He said, but I could tell he didn't really mean it. He didn't care about Severus like I did.
"Fine." I stated. "If you're not going to help him, then I'll need to do something myself." I jumped from my chair and stormed from the room once again.
