Chapter 5: Chocolate, Caramel and Everything Nice
Rylee's P.O.V.

The car stops in front of a bright lettered sign that reads "Max Brenner" in white. It's a red colored building that takes up the whole block.

"I think I heard of this place before." I cut through the silence that is resonating through the car.

I turn to face Kat and she is typing really fast on her phone and I'm crossing my arms over my chest. I lean over to see who she is texting but she pulls the phone away and she looks bewildered at me. "It's my mom, okay, nosy." She sprouts a smile on her face.

I squint my eyes, not really believing her. "Are we going to get out the car, sometime today, or...?" I ask. When I look at her again she is typing and she notices the silence in the car and looks at me with an apologetic smile on her face.

"Sorry, you're right. Let's go." She opens the car door and walks over to my side and I open the door and get out as well. She puts the alarm on the car and we enter Max Brenner. Soon as we enter the place, a swirl of chocolaty goodness comes into contact with my nose and I immediately smile because of it. I'm finally getting what I wished for.

"Would you like to try one of our caramelized nuts?" A tan individual with brown apron that says 'Max Brenner' on it asks us. His eyes were hazel and his bright smile made him even cuter. I forgot that Kat was even next to me when she speaks up.

"What is it?" Kat asks, taking an unusual chocolate powdered treat. To be honest it looks like a piece of poop.

I grimace at it.

"It's caramelized pecans rolled in hazelnut cream and fine cocoa powder. Don't knock it til you try it." He looked between the both of us.

Kat and I held the same disgusted expression. "This is for you. You said you were in the mood for chocolate." Kat adds.

The guy looked at me. "You came here to try chocolate, right? Then trust me when I tell you this is really good."

I hold out my hand and he puts the chocolate piece inside. "Try it with me, girl." I look at Kat.

Kat nods. We both put the piece into our mouths and I'm ao glad I did. It's so yummy! The pecan, the hazelnut the chocolate, you can taste every ingredient. "I'm glad we listened to you." Kat smiles gratefully.

He smiles at her and hands her another one and me too. "Thanks." I say thankfully to him. When we finished that piece Kat asks where is the chocolate. The guy navigates us to where it is and it's expensive. Like twenty dollars for one box.

"It's made from Switzerland and honestly you know it's better than Maryland chocolate." He admits.

We both frown at the price but he's right. "How about we grab a table, eat dinner and think about it." Kat tells me.

"Sounds good, I would love to know what else they have." I say to her.

"Believe me, everything here is good. But don't be too full to try the desserts. The desserts are the best part." He advises us.

"What's your favorite?" Kat blushes.

"Well, if it's just the two of you guys, I suggest you get the one where you can share for two." He smiles.

"Is there one for three by any chance?" I hear a familar squeaky voice from behind me and when I turn around I see Melody.

I hug her tightly and when I turn to Kat she gives Melody a hug as well. "You knew about this, didnt you?" I ask her.

Kat blushes. "Yeah. Surprise!"

"I'm staying here for two more days but I wanted to see you guys so Kat gave me a call and we end up here." Mel smiles. "By the way how's the director thing going along?" She asks me.
