School the next day blew ass. Everyone was dead silent. People looked at me with sympathy I don't want. A few people came up to me and said they were sorry my boyfriend was going to die. Every time that happened I would whip around and tell them he wasn't my boyfriend and he was most certainly not going to die. Some people asked me how he was doing. I told everybody I wasn't there last night and didn't know. The only person who knew I was there was Lydia. Only because I flashed her a text asking if she'd cover for me.
Kate and her brother were going to the hospital after school and offered to take me. Of course I said yes. The end of the day couldn't get here soon enough. As soon as we got there we went up to his room and walked in. There were about five people standing around his bed, all of which I knew.
"Is Kameron here?" He asked in a panicked tone.
    "Yes yes I'm here."
"Where?" I walked over to the bed and took his hand. He relaxed and his heart rate slowed down. "Who else is here?" Everyone introduced themselves and a girl named Lacey whispered in my ear.
"I've been here the longest and every time the door opened he asked if it was you." I smiled. I wanted to tell him how awful school was without him. I wished everyone else would just disappear into thin air. But alas that is impossible unless you're a magician, and I, am not. It was hard to see him. When he wasn't aware that I was there he looked like he was in so much pain. As soon as he realized it was me he put on a brave face. Now he looked like nothing could ever hurt him. I bent down to the bed.
"You don't have to put on a brave face. You can show pain Tanner. I love it when you do, it shows that you're alive." I whispered in his ear. Immediately he ditched the mask. He let out a pained sigh of relief and squeezed my hand. When it came time for everyone to leave I stayed.
    "Who's all here?"
    "Just me."
"Why are you not next to me!" He asked patting the space next to him like last night. I complied and scooted as close as possible. He laid his head on my shoulder, then turned it to look up at me. Then painfully he opened his swollen eyes. "You look gorgeous." I closed his eyes for him and choked back a sob.
"Thank you but stop. Don't open your eyes I don't want you to get hurt."
    "You're worth it."
"I don't understand why you keep saying that. I don't understand why you think that I'm not. Tanner I don't deserve you."
"Kameron I love you so much. You're drop dead gorgeous. You're incredibly smart. You help anyone and everyone, sometimes without even knowing it. I love when I hug you and receive envious stares from other guys. I love spending time with you even if it's just on your couch watching Netflix. I love every second I'm with you because you always leave me wanting more, feeling like I can never get enough. Kameron I love you and if this kills me... At least I have you."
