The dance was stary night themed. Perfect right? When my group of friends and I got there people were dancing and talking in the gym. When Tanner arrived he scanned the room and his eyes fell on me. He began to start my way and my heart seized.
"Wow, you look... Just wow"
"Thank you. You look great Tanner."
"Thanks. Hey you wanna take a picture?"
"Sure" I handed Kate the phone and wrapped my arm around him once more this time tighter. He pulled me towards him by my waist. I was extremely aware of the fact that his hand was on my waist. Rather firmly I might add, like he was claiming to the world that I was his. Just then our favorite song came on and everyone made a mad dash for the dance floor. After hours of dancing. They played one last song, a slow song. Tanner led me to the dance floor and I wrapped my arms around his neck as his hands rested on my hips.
"Kameron you look absolutely stunning."
"Thank you Tanner." I said blushing and looked down at our shoes swaying from side to side.
"You know I'm really glad you went with me tonight. "
"Me too." Just then the lights came back on in the gym and the song ended. It was only then that I realized how close I was to Tanner.
"Um you're getting a ride from Kate right?"
"Yeah her older brother's giving us a ride."
"You want me to walk you out there?"
"Yes." I replied a little too enthusiastically. "Yes, I'd love that." He took my hand and we slowly made our way outside. Right outside the school doors he turned to me and said.
"I had a lot of fun with you tonight. You looked just amazing. I saw you cheering at the game and smiling on the dance floor and-" he realized he was rambling. "I like your smile."
"Thank you." I said and I blushed so I looked at the cracked pavement beneath us. He tilted my head up so my blue eyes met his hazel ones. I noticed how close we were standing, the fabric of our clothes just barely brushing together. He leaned down and kissed me.
Holy shit oh my lord almighty his face is on mine! Ah I'm doing it I'm having my first kiss holy crap balls! This is really easy actually! Ah yes I'm finally doing this! He pulled away revealing a huge smile on my face.
"That one. That's the smile I love." Just then Kate walked out.
"Kameron Jason is here he's parked right over-" then she realized what she'd walked in on. "Oh... Um are you ready or should I?"
"No. Yeah I'm ready it's okay." I turned to Tanner and thanked him and we hugged goodbye. Kate and I walked to Jason's car and as soon as the doors closed Kate turned around from the front seat.
"Spill." She commanded. But the first person I needed to tell was Lydia.
