Luke wasn't jealous or anything. He had nothing to be jealous about. Calum was just shoving his tongue down some stupid girl's throat as if Luke wasn't standing a few feet away from them.
Luke wanted to cry. He wanted to cry and maybe punch Calum a few times. But he knew a high school Christmas party wasn't the ideal place to cry about Calum, so he bottled it up and took a few drinks, cringing at the gross taste of vodka. But if it helped him forget about Calum and his eyes; then it was definitely worth a shot. (A/N: no pun intended)

Calum came to get him after thirty minutes or so. Luke wasn't entirely drunk; he could recognize who was who and his head wasn't spinning; he just felt numb and dizzy. And a little bit in love. Okay, maybe a lot. Calum grabbed him by his waist and guided him upstairs. He was talking, but Luke was too focused on how Calum's arm felt around his waist. He almost tripped on their way up the stairs, but Calum was there. And Luke hated it – how he always was there. With his stupid face and curly hair and eyes that haunted Luke every night.

Calum dragged him inside a room and locked the door behind them to give them more privacy. Luke stumbled to the bed and sat at the edge of it, his hands between his thighs; he was having a hard time trying to keep his eyes open.

"Are you having fun?" Calum sat beside him and their knees brushed and Luke liked how the world seemed to spin in slow motion. He leaned his head against Calum's shoulder and closed his eyes. Alcohol made him sleepy. And maybe a little horny and emotional.

"I brought you something," Calum whispered and nudged an almost asleep Luke.

The blonde boy's eyes shoot open and he looked over at Calum, who was looking back at him already. And he looked so lovely. So, so, so lovely.

They stare into each other's eyes and for those fleeting moments, Luke knew nothing of gruesome thoughts but rather of the stars Calum's eyes have caught. It's as he swallowed the night just to take Luke's breath away. The universe is endless and Luke's feelings are the same – if not, growing bigger each time. He stares into Calum's eyes and he sees the view they provide. He wonders what Calum thinks when he stares into his. All Luke can think is I love you.

Luke adverts his eyes down to his lap, his fingers playing with the hem of his shirt. He doesn't feel drunk anymore. Not by the alcohol, anyways. Maybe by Calum's eyes. Yeah.

He watches from the corner of his eye as Calum gets something out of his pocket. But he doesn't turn to look at him.

"Luke," Calum says, voice soft and calming, his breath hitting Luke's cheek gently like a breeze.
