It was raining heavily.
It actually looked like a storm, but there weren't any thunder and lightning. Just rain.
Amaryllis was worried at the current weather. After their little meeting at the library, Ryuzaki asked him to come up into the rooftop where their relationship started. But since it was raining, it looks like it would be a bit impossible for him to proceed with whatever plan he has for the afternoon.
When the final bell rang, Amy picked her bag and left the room with doubt. Still, with her faith conquering her nervousness, she increased her pace and walked to the rooftop.
--
The voice was smooth and relaxing, although sadness and disappointment is hinted in every tone. Amaryllis dropped her bag behind the door of the rooftop entrance and silently peeked outside.
Ryuzaki was singing solemnly, his shirt soaked heavily and his coat missing. His raven hair was dripping and his tie haphazardly hung on his shoulder. His back faced Amaryllis so she won't be able to see whatever expression he is showing in his pallid face at the moment.
Instead of calling him to come inside, she listened carefully at the lyrics he was singing.
It was a song of a lover who lost their way home, desperate to be in his lover's arms again. With this desperation, he tried finding it in the arms of other women, although it turned into failure. Until he gave up in finding her, he sat under the stars, and wished for her lover to appear. The next day, he found himself laying with her into their paradise.
Amaryllis was touched by the way his voice danced with the right melody. The sadness in his voice made her felt more connected to him, and a tear leaked from her eye. She bit her lower lip to prevent making any sound, but when a hiccup escaped, she covered her mouth with her hands. And then he sang more.
He sang the song of a family who lives a peaceful life, the dandelions flying away from the ground, the speedwells growing alongside the roads, the lovers who sing together the song of their souls, the friends who never left each other, and the young lad whose heart is pure towards every single being. And yet, all of these ended up in a way that they never expected.
Death and suffering overcame the said paradise, and at the final line of the song, it narrated how the curtain fell to cover every mistake.
The words broke her heart in a slow manner, making the pain slightly unbearable. She never figured out that Ryuzaki could sing in a manner so sensual, even with the same stoic facade. Her first impression of him was an emotionless stone, and yet, after all of these false assumptions, the very emotion that surfaced the moment was none other than grief.
Amaryllis didn't have any clue as why he was singing that way, but she perfectly knew that when he finally finished singing, he turned to face the door, and when he spot her shaking frame, his midnight orbs widened. it quickly returned into his normal expression a he walked towards her.
"I'm sorry, Amy-chan."
"Why are you apologizing...?" Her voice came out as a whisper, not even bothering the tears that graced her cheeks. Ryuzaki lifted his wet thumb and touched the skin below her eyes, Amaryllis not even bothering how the coldness of his finger linger throughout.
"... ..."
Instead of answering, he leaned closer and kissed her forehead, resisting the urge to hug her because of his soaked clothing.
She suddenly felt him trembling, and thought that he was cold and might catch flu. But after looking upwards, she saw that it wasn't the case. He did something that she never pictured Ryuzaki to do.
He cried.
