The summer was finally over, much to the disappointment of other students, but I was excited. Senior year. I couldn't believe I was here already. Almost to college. One year stands in my way. I looked to my left where I saw the high schools 'it' couple locked in a passionate embrace. I quickly looked away. My crush on Ashton was no use. By the way his hands were tangled in Lacy's hair, there was no way they'd be separating.
"Alice! Long time no see girl."
I looked behind me to see Katy, my only best friend, walking towards me. "What's up Kate?"
"Couldn't Ashton and Lacy take that somewhere else? That's nasty."
"I know." I replied. Katy must have seen my crest fallen face though, and tugged me inside, before I could do anything stupid.
"How was your summer?"
"Do you really need to ask?" I spent all summer with you, doing pointless stuff."
"There's my Alice back!" Katy exclaimed.
Then the bell ring and it was off to my classes. I felt strangely thrilled. Like if I could get this over with and never see Ashton again would fix my broken heart, but I knew that wouldn't happen. One more year. That was all I had to last.
