There he was, sitting at the table with the boys, as normal as ever, except I could still see the bags under his eyes. His leg looked fine and I felt herself staring. How was that possible.
"Better stop staring before you drool." Katy said. I managed a laugh that sounded almost real. I finally decided against going up to him, my shyness standing in front of me like a wall. I couldn't go up to him.

The day passed in a blur but advisory finally came around. As soon as I walked in Lacy's gaze, and half of the cheer squads, were directed towards me. I had no idea why. Then Ashton walk up to me and grabbed my hand, leading me to sit by him.
"Ashton." I whispered. "What are you doing?"
"If I'm going to be golden boy, I want to be yours." He whispered back with a smirk. He guided me to the back of the room and we sat down in some empty chairs. Apparently everyone but me knew he was going to do this, and though it was obvious they wanted to, no one turned to look at us.
"So Alice, how was your day?"
"I can't believe you're asking me this. You jumped out of my window. How the hell did you not break anything? That was a two story drop Ashton. There's no way you survived it without being hurt."
"Not true. I got a little cut on my shoulder." He said indignantly, like that was normal.
"What are you?" I asked, the words coming to my head. He was human wasn't he? But Some instinct in my mind was telling me otherwise.
