I don't know why he looked at me that way, but he did, and for some reason I stared right back. Something clicked in my mind then. Lacy wasn't here, but Ashton was, and he was angry at me. I asked to be excused, and like I somehow knew he would, he asked as well and followed me into the hallway.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" I whispered to him. "Where's Lacy, why are you angry, and why are you angry at me?"
He looked taken back.
"I know you were angry. The way you looked at me, like I had murdered someone. What's wrong with you golden boy?"I had never been so straight forward with someone. I was a shy girl, not a nerd but decently smart, and I had never been in a relationship that lasted more than two months. Of course I had never been kissed and I had been bullied for it all through high school. I defiantly didn't talk to Ashton, let alone call him golden boy, but my resolve to figure this out didn't soften. If anything now I was getting mad.
I had long, brown hair that fell the the very end of my back, just above my tailbone. I had green eyes, and my mom used to say the were the green of the emerald city, like she'd been there, but that's impossible because it doesn't exist. I had an olive skin tone, tan but not fake looking, and though some people would I say I was beautiful Ashton appeared to be one of those people that thought I was not.
"There's nothing wrong with me. Why would you say that?" He said as he grabbed my wrists, his hands tight around them.
"The way you came in without Lacy, and immediately looked at me, your eyes filled with hatred. What was that all about? What have I ever done to you?" I almost screamed, but he quickly clamped a hand over my mouth as soon as the words were out, leaving my wrists free, but before I could swing my hand back to hit him, I felt a sharp pain in my arm and the world started spinning. The last thing I heard was 'You really don't know do you?' And Ashton's stricken looking face. Then the world went black.
