I sat up straight the covers falling to the floor. I was shivering and sweating at the same time. I heard footstep running up the stairs and then Ashton peered around the corner. As soon as he saw my face he ran to the bedside.
"Are you ok? You look like you've seen a ghost." Ashton looked so scared. It was touching. I'd never had a guy care about me before.
"I have."
"What do you mean?"
I explained about the tunnel and seeing a man who looked just like me. My dad. Slowly his face went from pale to white until I thought he was going to pass out.
"Ashton. Ashton!!!!" I yelled his name but he didn't even flinch. He had stopped blinking, and only the small rise and fall of his chest showed that he was alive. I reached out to grab his shoulders but before I reached him he spoke.
"You're special Alice." Then he turned slowly to me and his face started to regain color, but not much.
"And your father's not dead."
