I woke up to my alarm clock the next morning. I got up, got dressed and ran downstairs.
"What are you doing up Alice?"
"Mom, I'm going to school. I have a test today." Since when had I been such an effortless liar?
"Oh ok. Are you sure you feel good enough to go?"
"Yes mom I feel fine."
"You're sure?"
"Yes. I'm just gonna get breakfast at school k?" Before she could respond I ran up the stairs and grabbed my school bag. There was a piece of paper on my bedside table. It said 'meet me in the library at lunch. I will explain. Ashton'
I got butterflies in my stomach. I hadn't dreamed up this morning. It had been real. I grabbed her bag and ran back down the steps. I walked to school like any normal day, picking up Katy. I felt bad but I couldn't and didn't say anything about Ashton.
"Did you know Ashton and Lacy broke up? I found her in the bathroom yesterday bawling her eyes out. But hey now Ashton is single." She shot me a look.
"I am not going after Ashton Bently Kate. No way!" she still had a smug look on her face even after I said it.
"Did you here me?"I asked. "I am not going to humiliate myself." She just smirked as we walked into school. I wasn't sure he'd be here. He must have broken his leg from jumping out of my window. But as me and Kate walked into school, I had a feeling everything was about to change.
