It's been just over 4 months since Aria and Jason first got together, and they couldn't imagine being happier. They both went out if their ways to make each other smile, with smug little gestures. Like when Aria leaves her boyfriend little notes in his jacket pockets, or treats her to some flowers and dinners. Once Aria turned up up at Jason's work with all of his favourite snacks just before his first very important presentation with a major client. But most importantly it was the small intimate moments that they shared which led them to fall for each other even harder and harder, day by day. It was the hand holding when trotting along the road, the frowns changing into smiles when they looked at each other, the quick kisses as they were saying goodbye, the stroking under table when no one was looking and the giggles they have exchanged that echoed in their heads whenever their significant other wasn't around.
It was all of those things that reassured them that it wasn't just a summer fling, but now that the summer was coming to a sad end, what were they to do? Aria was planning on moving to New york as she got an apprenticeship there, opportunity of a lifetime, she would be crazy to miss it, and she knew that full well, but Jason had his own life here in Rosewood, they had to come up with something...
Aria was feeling anxious and quite nervous. She couldn't bring herself to tell her boyfriend that she was leaving to go to the big apple. It was not set in stone as of yet, but she was hoping he wouldn't try to change her mind because she knew she would give in. On one hand she was heartbroken even considering not seeing Jase everyday, the distance was dreading , thinking about it brought tears to her eyes. On the other hand she was an independent woman, the apprenticeship was all set up, and not going through with it would be plain stupid, all of her family and friends were counting on her to go, and she knew she would regret not going but as the anticipation grew with everyday, the more she wanted to cry at the thought of leaving everything and everyone behind.
Jason and Aria has discussed it before, here and there, they never really got into too much details because Jason didn't want to think about it, he always explained he'd rather focus on the now than the future knowing nobody knew what it could bring. The truth is he can't stand the thought of Aria leaving. Not being able to just turn up at her house and see her, kiss her or fall asleep together in an embrace that makes all the outside worries of their lives disappear. He knew he had no saying in this and wanted to be supportive, he had his life here but what sort of a live was it really? he kept thinking. Apart from Aria and his sister, maybe a few acquaintances and his job he had nothing.
Jason thought about leaving with Aria, as in moving in together but maybe it was too soon, he was certain it was but he couldn't bare the thought of at least not asking her about it. If she said no he would be devastated but in his mind; Ali would understand, finding a new job considering his status won't be too hard and he would make some new friends there anyway. A fresh start with Aria by his side seemed like the perfect idea. ..
well almost perfect... "I can't let you do that Jason" Aria snapped at him with hesitation, she was happily surprised with the efforts her boyfriend was making in order for them to stay together, but she remembered how her own mother moved to Iceland on Aria's father command and regret it afterwards, she didn't want that to happen in this case, she tried to explain it the best she could to Jason, but that didn't spare him from feeling hurt and a tear composing in his eye.
"I need to go... I can't do this right now!" Jason blurred out angrily as he left Aria's house with a bang. He couldn't keep his feelings in anymore, he was on the verge of crying and he did what Dilarentis do best; better storm out and make a scene than work through your emotions, but he didn't care about the perceptions at the moment, he just didn't want to seem so vulnerable in front of Aria.
