It's a little bit after 8 and although the summer sky is still bright, the stormy clouds are starting to gather and when Jason looked up in the sky he knew it was time to slowly start heading back to Rosewood, his face slightly disappointed. It was so much fun just getting lost in the forest, and even the art show which he wouldn't normally enjoy was quite amusing, he loved seeing the passion in Aria's eyes as she spoke about some artists he didn't even know and comparing styles or linking ideas behind them, which would only leave Jason more confused, but ever so often Aria would run her fingers through his hair and whisper something funny in his ear, and that made him incredibly happy.
Aria is trying to focus on the great views, the sun is starting to set by now and it's beautiful, but she can't take her eyes of Jason's mouth, he unconsciously nibbles on his bottom lip from time to time, which makes Aria want to just jump into his arms and press their lips together, and don't let go until everyone knows they're a couple and she doesn't have to worry about making excuses up to hanna and Emily, or getting caught by Alison. She believes they want what's best for her, just like any good friends would, and this is exactly the reason she's a bit sceptical towards telling them. What if they disapprove? they mean everything to her, and she knows that even if they don't mean to enforce their ideas on her, she usually agrees with them in the end. Afterall, they were right about Ezra, they knew he was trouble as he walked in, and so did I, but i lived in denial and wasted 2 years of my life. I kept hoping for our relationship to sort itself out and that one day it will be perfect and we no longer have to try so hard to make it work but obviously it wasn't written in the stars, and Aria knows how wrong of her it was to think it was.
The last rays of sun dazing in the young couple's eyes. Their fingers were interlocked and they would squeeze it harder whether they looked at each other. They were making their way back to the car and everything seemed too good to be true. this day they will remember even 50 years across the line from now, and both of them hoping to still be together, although none of they said, considering they want to take things slowly to do everything right and the way it's supposed to be.
They finally got to he car and their fingers are still interlocked, Jason let's go to fetch his keys from his pocket. It started drizzling and they didn't want to stand in the rain, Aria suggested getting her umbrella out of her unnecessarily massive bag. Jason noded energetically and hopped to the back of the car. They both decided to have a hot chocolate and another one of those delicious cookies at his mum friend's restaurant before they'll leave, although it will be late they don't mind, it's the weekend they can do as they please, besides that's their last resort in order for this day not to end too soon. It's crazy they are together and they are already worried about spending time separately, and when they are not together they text and call each other as a part of their everyday routine, they are inseparable, and not in a clingy way, they don't abuse emojis, they don't text each other love letters they've copied and pasted from google, they just have this special connection and it's something more than just desire or teenage fantasy come to live.
"JASON!!" Aria screamed in terror, upon seeing a slashed tyre. Jason instinctively dropped the bag and went to see what the hap was fuckening.
"Are you fucking kidding me?!!" angst is showing on his face, which Aria clearly notices.
"i mean you know how to change a tyre, right?" Aria realised it was a bit sexist assuming every men can change tyres so she carried on seeing that Jason stood there trying to gather his thoughts, or at least that what it seemed like. "we can always ask someone for help, or watch a youtube tutorial on how to do it" she joked.
"yeah, if only i had a spare tyre " Jason looked worried, and rubbed his hands to his face before sighing out loud angrily.
Aria tried to reassure Jason and tell him that it was okay, and not to worry, but that was before they found out that the only mechanics in town is already closed and doesn't open up until Monday. (it's only saturday). They both brain stormed as they sat inside the tilted car. The wipers wiping away all the rain to clear the view kept squeaking which only made them both more frustrated and more hopeless. They thought hard and called Spencer for help, she did know about their randevou, Aria had to talk to someone about her romance and hence Spencer already knew about the two of them, also they are team #sparia, it's the safest best option to open her heart to her best friend.
"heyyy! so i have this massive favour to ask you" Aria began. She explained the whole situation and hoped for the best.
"Aria it's already past 9 pm atm and it's a 3 hour drive, there and back we wont be back until literally tomorrow, how about I'll come and get you tomorrow, in the morning" Spencer's voice lowered down towards the end of the sentence which led to the young couple giving each other a questionable look as they both noticed something was off.
"Guys i'm at this thing with my mother and Toby and Melissa is here too, I can't really leave now, do you think you'll be okay until tomorrow" Spencer said apologetically, she wanted to help but she couldn't and felt quite miserable about it too.
Aria and Jason shrugged their shoulders and reassured Spencer not to worry, no matter how hard it was for them to admit that staying together overnight and taking things slowly could be a pain in the butt.
"stay safe" she chuckled and on that note they ended the call.
"look! A motel!" Jason said excitedly upon seeing a motel in the distance. They both knew straight away this is going to be 'something' alright.
