Chapter Six

~ So I lied. This chapter isn't gonna be the special Christmas chapter, rather a look inside Max and his feelings, as well as a new character. If you're reading this, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas! I'm technically writing this on Christmas Eve, so, hello future! - Jord ~

Max POV
   It's been about 5 days since Y/n moved here, and they were the most incredible 5 days. I mostly showed her around Washington when we weren't working. I was shopping for Christmas presents for all of the people at the office. Y/n was hanging out with her old friend Carrie, as well as Adam and Jin. I drove to Crossroads and into the mall to look around. No one really requested anything, so I was just thinking of getting everyone gift cards. Although I wanted to get Y/n something special...
   She really deserves a special gift. She was nice to me when I first met her, even if I was shy. I warmed up to her pretty fast and now we talk like we've been friends for years, even though it's been about 5 days. I really like her. Some of the guys have joked around about how 'Max is totally falling for her' and 'Max should just tell her'. It really ticks me off. Ross has even told me 'he ships it'. Even if it is annoying... They may be right, in a sense. I do like her, like, like like her, as childish as it sounds. Maybe I should tell her on Christmas...
   I continued to look around for things to buy for everyone. I finally found things for everyone after about an hour of searching. I got Y/n a laptop to bring to work with her, so she doesn't have to use her personal laptop from home. I got Jin a collectors edition Fire Emblem game, one in which he doesn't have. I got Adam another One Direction poster because why not? I got Ross a fedora only because he requested one. I got Barney a gift card because the guy doesn't like one certain thing. And I got everyone else 50 dollar gift cards to wherever they please.
   I started to walk to my car, while something in the back of my mind was itching at me. Should I tell her? That's all I could think about for the rest of the drive home.
   When I came home, Ross was already home from wherever he was. He was sitting on the couch checking his phone. I decided to ask him about what I should do. It's a stupid idea, yes, but it's all I had. "Hey Ross?" I walked in with my bags in hand. "Ye?" He responded as I set the bags down on the floor. "I need some advice." I frowned. "On what?" He asked. "Y/n." I said. "Ohhhhh." The realization hit him like a ton of bricks. "I've been waiting for you to ask that." He smirks. "I have a plan." He says. "Hit me." I respond. "At the Christmas Party at the office, I'll have you and Y/n stand under the mistletoe. The rest is obvious." He continued to scroll through his phone. That's not a bad idea... I thought. "That's a good idea, actually." I smiled. "What can I say, I'm amazing with the ladies." He picked up KP who was sitting near him and held her. "Ross, that's a cat." I said. "I know it is, Max." He responded. "Whatever. Thanks for the help, by the way." I retreat to my room to wrap the presents I bought.
It took about an hour, but I was finally done. I looked at all the presents aligned in front of me and sighed. I stood up and grabbed a piece of paper and began writing on it.

Your POV
You looked around the airport for a long haired girl. Your head whipped around and you inspected the entire airport in search of this girl. Adam and Jin were next to you, doing the same. You finally spot her and run over to her, Adam and Jin following. "Carrie!" You squealed, pulling her into a tight hug. "Hey Y/n! It's ice to see you!" She laughed. You stared at her. "Get it... Cause... It's snowing here..." She gave an awkward smile. All of you laughed. You all talked for a bit about what's been happening. "So I've heard that there's a little ship going around between you and Max." Carrie said. "What?! How do you know this?!" Your jaw dropped. "A little Barney told me." She giggled. "Oh, so you've met Barney?" You asked. "Well, we've only texted..." She blushed. "Awwwhhh." You giggled. "S-shut up..." She play hit you. "Could we get back to the office?" She asked. "Ye." You responded, as you piled into Adam's car and drove to the office.
