Luke

Ever since you were a little kid you woke up as the sun rose and stumbled into your parents bedroom to wake them up. The day was always filled with laughter and undeniable happiness. So as your eyes fluttered open you couldn't help but feel a wave of sadness when you woke up. You were no longer in your childhood home tucked into your childhood bed. However the sadness wasn't bad, it was bittersweet.

You had found a new kind of home with Luke in your shared apartment. No matter where you were whether it be on the road with the rest of the guys or if it was in a random hotel room, you always felt at home with him.

So when you woke up on Christmas Day , you felt an unusual coldness behind you. The bed also felt less heavy. You hesitantly place a hand next to you to find it empty. The sheets were still a little warm which immediately calmed your nerves.

You get up and as you set your bare feet on the wooden floor you feel a shiver go down your spine. Only wearing shorts and an old Nirvana shirt you crossed your arms on your chest.
You cautiously enter the main room and there you see him.

Your six foot nineteen year old anxiously waiting like a 6 year old to open his presents. His blonde hair smushed by a Santa hat and his silver lip ring tugging at his lips as he smiled.
A smile grows across your face as you walk over to him. As soon as your close enough to him he starts taking his presents and rips through them.

Calum
You've been planning this gift for about a month. Being the biggest thing you've ever given someone, you planned everything out to a T. The stress and hassling it took to get it to your home on time took a toll on you. But then you remembered the look Calum would have on his face would be worth it.

The night before once he was asleep, you placed the box in the spare room and continuously kept checking on it. Now Christmas was here and you grew more anxious.

Being surprisingly early, you heard Calum wake up. Before he got up, he placed a hand on your waist and gently kissed the top of your head. What was meant to be a quick wake up turned into a half hour long cuddle session.

Eventually you two peeled away from each other and made your way down to the living room. You insisted that you give him his presents last and with a minute of bickering he finally gave in.

As you opened your gift you kept glancing up at him and you could slightly see a shade of red growing on his cheeks. You looked down at the box and delicately pulled out what was inside. It was a silver heart locket with your initials on it and the date he finally asked you out.

You look up at him and smile. Because there are never words to use when your thanking Calum you just simply give him a kiss. When you pulled away he snuck a kiss into your forehead.

"Okay now it's your turn.." You picked up the small box under the tree and handed it to him. Resembling a child he quickly unwrapped the box and pulled out a stuffed animal.

His smile slowly started to fade

"aw babe thanks.." You couldn't help but smile as his response.

"Wait there's more.." You walked away to the room and gently picked up the box. You quickly opened it and placed a bow on the gift. Putting it back in the box you cautiously carry the box into the living room.

"Unfortunately you can't really exchange this one.." You set the box on the couch and sat next to it.

Noticing your weird behavior he pulled the gift a little closer to him and slowly opened the box. Well actually the box kind of opened by itself.

Calum's mouth fell instantly and his eyes grew extremely wide. You hear tiny whimpering from the box and can't help but smile.

"You got me a puppy!!" He squealed.
