Christmas with Luke

Imagine..

Its been at least 3 hours and you haven't left the kitchen since noon.Christmas music softly pouring out of speakers. The counters were covered in flour and sugar that had been poorly measure by the one and only Luke. The heat from the oven has gradually warmed up the entire house due to too many attempts at making gingerbread cookies. While sitting on top of the only cleaned counter, you watch your goof overly concentrated on cutting the cookie dough into perfectly shaped characters.

"Okay! I think they're good. Shall we try the oven again." He says cutely.

"I'm scared to but sure." mumbling loud enough for him to hear you.

Not trusting him with the tray of cookies, you decide to put it in the oven on your own. As you're putting the tray in you notice one of the cookies is in the shape of a penguin and you can't help but smile.

As you set the timer on the stove you feel two long arms snake around your waist and a chin resting on your shoulder. A smile grows across your lips and you place your much smaller hands on top of his.

"See this is why we keep screwing up these cookies." You whisper as you walk out of his arms. You walk over to your plugged in phone and turn the music up as you start to clean up the mess.

In the corner of your eye you can see Luke starting to clean up the table he was sitting at. A grateful smile tugs at your lips and you turn around to clean the rest of the counters. Turning around, you learned, would be your biggest mistake that day.

Due to the somewhat loud music you didn't hear Luke get up, let alone sneak up right behind you. So when Luke unexpectedly picked you up from behind you, you couldn't help but let out a little gasp. He sets you down gently and you're suddenly confused on why he felt the need to do that.

However when you look up a Luke and noticed the giddy grin on his face, you slowly look down. Realizing what Luke was so amused by.

Two large flour hand prints were stained into your all black leggings.

"Lucas!" you whine. You bend down slightly to dust the flour off, but it wouldn't budge.

"You're buying me new ones."
As your annoyance starts to fade, you see the perfect opportunity to get back at him.

With his back to you, you quietly press your palms into the flour and walk up to him. Unlike him you  play the whole sneaking up part much better.

You walk up to him and casually wrap your arms around his waist and rest your chin on his back. You can hear him humming along to the Christmas music playing in the background.

You could listen to him get lost in music forever. And you almost did once you remembered why you were cuddling him in the first place.

Feeling a smirk grow across your face, you placed your palms flat against his stomach. As soon as you removed your hands, Luke automatically looked down to see your tiny handprints on his stomach.

Turning around kind of slowly, he faces you and is looking you right in the eye when he says "You're  On." You back up slowly and then when you see Luke head for the pile of flour you start to run around your first floor.

Luke ran after you while trying not to get flour on anything else..well except for you. As you reached the kitchen again, you lean against the island and start to catch your breath.

"Okay okay you win.." you surrendered. As you close your eyes waiting  to be covered with flour all you feel is a little tap on your nose.

You open your eyes to sky blue ones looking into yours. A smile tugs at his lips as he wipes off the spot of flour in your nose.

You casually drape your arms around his neck as you plant a small kiss on his mouth. He keeps your forehead against his as you try to pull away.

He starts to hum to the music again and your automatically taken to another place. A place where you felt safe and genuinely happy.

Having been lost in the moment, you almost don't hear the timer go off for the gingerbread men.

You snap out of your daze and walk over to the over to open the door. The batch was a success at last.

Which meant no more wasting heat from the oven, no more measuring ingredients.

All that you can do now is cuddle up next to Luke and his gingerbread penguin and watch whatever the two o you were in the mood for. It ended up being  Mean Girls.

You wouldn't watch it though. The two of you would get lost in each other's conversations. You would get lost in his eyes. You would lay with each other until the credits of the movie started to roll and the both of your eyes finally closed. Still wrapped in each other's arms.
