Chapter 4- Critical Condition

Chapter 4 MITM

JEROME'S POV

"Don't. Move." Jake said behind us. I turned around and saw him pointing a gun to Mitch's head. I gasped and Jordan looked at me reassuringly. I was never told the plan. I guess that WAS the plan was not to tell me. Good going Jordan.

Jake grabs a walkie talkie from his pocket. "Guys I have them. Get in here." He said into it. In moments, we were grabbed by three men who walked in and tied to chairs next to each other. Mitch looked really tired and I knew he was losing to much blood. His eyes started to close and I panicked.

"Mitch no please stay awake!" I whispered loud enough so he heard.

"J... Just f... F... Five minutes....." He stuttered. This wasn't good. Jordan looked at me and nodded to me and mouthed, "it's okay. It's going as planned." I wasn't sure whether to trust that or not.

Jake walked up to us and Mitch looked up at him. Jake grabbed the knife and played with it for a moment. Then he pressed it to Mitch's arm and dragged it down, opening and old cut again. Mitch cried out in pain as Jake looked at Jordan and I. I looked at him in fear and he laughed slightly.

"I can't hurt you two. I have to have some kind of ransom in case Mitch here dies." He said. I looked to Mitch, who had tears streaming down his face as he slumped over in his chair.

"No. Mitch can't die! Please Mitch no!" I yelled, tears building up in my eyes again. Mitch looked at me, his eyes dull and tried to smile. Then he turned away and I heard him sobbing quietly.

Jake took the knife again and dragged it down Mitch's leg. Mitch yelled in pain, but his cries were growing quieter. I looked at Jordan because I couldn't watch my best friend dying in front of me. Jordan gave me a small smile and looked at the clock on the wall. I heard Mitch screaming more, and when I looked over at him, he was slumped over in his chair, his breathing heavy and slow. I couldn't take it anymore. The tears streamed down my cheeks.

After a few minutes, I had cried for a while and Jordan was looking around in fear and sadness. Mitch woke up and Jake took a picture of us on Mitch's phone. We all tried to look down or away, but just like in the first picture of Mitch, they yanked our head up to look at the camera.

"Holy crap!" Jordan yelled as they yanked his head up by his hair.

"So you guys I'm sensing this to Lexi. Don't worry, she'll be her to save you just a bit. Then when we get back together, I'll kill you." He said, an evil smirk on his face.

"She'll never get back together with you! She's staying with Mitch, and we all know it." Jordan said angrily.

"Oh but not if she thought she could save you all by dating me." Jake said, and walked away texting. I heard the ding of Mitch's phone only moments later, then Jakes evil laugh.

"She's coming...."

MITCHS POV

I looked up at Jake as he laughed. I sat there, shaking, and unable to do anything else. I couldn't even scream anymore. I couldn't speak. I was too tired. I sat there, slipping in and out of consciousness until a knock came on the door. Oh no....

Jake opened the door and grabbed Lexi, grabbing her and kissing her. I suddenly got all of my energy back and yelled, "NOOOO!" Lexi pushed him away and looked at me, crying.

"MITCH!" She yelled and ran to me. She wrapped her arms around me lightly, and kissed her cheek.

"I'm so sorry Mitch..." Se whispered.

"Wh... Why a... Are you sorry? A... Are you breaking up w.... With m...m...me?" I stuttered. She looked shocked and tears rolled down my face.

"Never! I'm sorry for everything that's happened!" She said. I smiled slightly at her. She smiled back and hugged Jerome and Jordan, saying she was sorry to them. Then she turned to Jake.
