"What's the difference between liking someone and actually falling in love?" Ginny asked tentatively, turning around to face Hermione.
The two girls were sitting in the corner of the Gryffindor common room, lounging lazily around one of the comfortable sofas. Hermione looked at her friend with furrowed eyebrows.
"Well liking someone means there is this one thing about a person - or it could be many things - that attract you towards him or her. Whereas loving someone is totally something entirely. You're far too in when you're in love. You adore each and everything about the person you're in love with and you have given your heart to him or her." Hermione smiled slightly. "Okay that might have been the crappiest explanation ever, but you get the deal, right?"
Ginny chuckled and nodded. "Yeah, thanks for trying."
Hermione looked at her with a slight smile. "So who do you have a crush on?"
Ginny snapped her head to look at Hermione. "Why do you think I have a crush on someone?"
"Well, why else would you ask that question?" Hermione's smile widened at looking Ginny's flustered state.
"Geez, I was just thinking."
"Okay," Hermione replied in sing-song voice. "We'll see." She said with finality causing Ginny to turn pink.
