Professor Snape glided over to their table, his black robes bellowing behind him, and stood in front of Hermione and Draco. He examined the potion they put forward, peering into the cauldron with the same expressionless face he always had. Hermione's heart started beating faster. She really hoped that the potion turned out acceptable.
After what seemed like forever, Snape stood up and straightened his posture. "Very well done, Mr. Malfoy. The potion is perfect." He spoke up in his usual cool tone.
Of course, Hermione thought. Of course he was going to give him all the credit. She pursed her lips in attempt to refrain herself from speaking back to the Professor just so that she does not end up losing more house points. Snape looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
"Actually Professor Snape," Hermione and Snape both snapped their heads towards Draco when they heard him speak. Draco glanced at Hermione sheepishly and continued. "Granger did most of the work. In fact, she did all of it."
Hermione's mouth slightly fell open at how considerate Draco was being. This is new, she thought.
Professor Snape turned to Hermione once more. "I see," he said, in the same cold voice. "Well done, Miss Granger." He added and turned away, leaving the two.
"Thank you," Hermione whispered to Draco and he nodded, sitting up straight in his seat.
"Whatever, mudblood."
