you are the dazzling line of lights strung around her christmas tree heart.
her ornaments are still in place-- those colored orbs dangling precariously from her spirit-- and she's never known the piercing pain of plucking fragile shards of glass out from her cupped palms.
i see the way she looks at you like an eager child seeing a thick blanket of powder covering the once-green ground for the first time.
she is a snow globe to me, precious and beautiful.
so i don't want to hear you ran away like the gingerbread man because i'll have sure as hell caught you. you'll see exactly how the cookie crumbles.
she is not an ugly sweater for you to throw aside nor is she a candy cane for you to snap.
she is the star resting on the highest bough.
she is all things joyful and nice. her eyes shine like the star of bethlehem and her smile is made of silver tinsel.
her voice is the gentle ringing of bells and she is as sweet as homemade cookies made by a grandmother and as warm as the crackling flames in the fireplace.
all i ask is that you approach her with only pure kindness and respect. make it onto our nice list.
give her your world in exchange for her insurmountable joy.
never look down upon her but catch her when she falls.
above all, love her wholeheartedly, and i think
we should get along
just
merrily.
Merry Christmas! Feliz Navidad! Joyeux Noël! murry kreesmas!
technically it's december 26th, but to be fair i started writing this at six pm... and then fell asleep for several hours...
i hope you had a wonderful day and just enjoyed yourself.
yors trooly,
