Love? You never think much about it. You have bunches of friends and plenty of fun following after.

Besides, you're still a middle schooler - a young 'un as your parents would say. Why meddle with love when you have crazy friends to light up the day?

Not to mention, school. You're not the best scholar out there and you can barely escape Summer School. Summer. Just the word of it and you can feel yourself sweating. It's burning hell on Earth in Tokyo here whenever June comes around - it's already July.

July is when Summer Break started for those lucky scholars, and Summer School for those unlucky gangsters. Now, you're not in those two extremes. You're most definitely not a scholar, but you'd do whatever it takes to escape the evil clutch of Summer School. Even when it means burying your nose with books after books as you crammed in everything in your power to pass the exams.

So, here you are. Enjoying Summer Break under the sizzling sun of July. Oh, God it was so hot you feel like jumping straight into the pool. You don't have one though - vinyl pool only. Commoners have it rough.

You sighed as you roamed Teikō's halls. You are having your break, but students are still required to come to school with certain duties assigned to them before the break started. Say, when you have pets in your school. They wouldn't feed themselves now, would they?

You fanned yourself as you tried to chill in the summer. Quite impossible, but you tried. You heard that sport clubs members are having summer trainings every year on summer break.

What dedication. Who would want to sweat buckets in summer with strenuous activities when mere summer is enough to get the life out of you?

You walked past the Gym said to be the Boy's Basketball Club summer training ground for the year. The squeaking noises of sneakers as they scraped against the floor and tumbling sounds of a ball filled the Gym and the area around it.

Out of curiosity at how on Earth one could survive such tortures and if there might perhaps be a secret-skill to it, you peeked into the Gym.

Sweat. Sweats and more sweats everywhere. It feels stuffy in there.

You are about to turn around when you feel your gaze pulled somewhere else, but outside the Gym.

You didn't know where to begin and what to say when you find yourself staring and locking gaze with one certain member in the Gym.

Ruby-red orbs. Charismatic. Commanding. Confident. Passionate.

You could sense all those in that pair of eyes. Something stirred inside you as you continue to stare. Something you never knew before.

He looked away first. Then you averted your gaze soon after as you whirled and quickly walked away from the Gym and from him.

The feelings is still there, inside of you. You could feel your irregular heartbeats and slightly flushed cheeks. You didn't know what's wrong with you and you left the school ground confused.

Was it another Summer's effects?

You couldn't put your fingers on it, but you feel weird. It started when you meet gaze with that boy.

It must be Summer. Heat can make you hallucinates and imagines things. That must be it. Surely.

You convinced yourself nothing ever happened and head straight home. A cold glass of lemonade and chilling air from an Air Conditioner would fix your shambled minds real quick.

What you didn't know, and the boy probably notices, is that it's the start of your own love story.
