You slammed the door to Student Council Office open, startling Aoyama and Souma who's in the room.

"(First Name)-chan..?" Souma muttered in bewilderment.

But all you had in mind is Akashi, so when you noticed he's not there, you broke into a run already.

You ran past the corridors and towards Akashi's class, 1-A.

He's not there.

You ran to the Basketball Club, the doors are kept open. Midorima and the colourful gang is there.

"(Last Name). What's with that ragged looks." Midorima scoffed in disapproval.

For once, you didn't hear Midorima's sarcastic remark. Besides, he's not off the mark, you are breathless and you must be a mess to look at.

"...W-Where...is...Akashi-kun..?" You wheezed weakly.

The pinkette manager who is the least clueless about things, blinked as she answered. "Akashi-kun? Why not try the rooftop (Last Name)-san? He might just be there."

You see a glimmer of hope at that. "Thank you!" You mustered before you started running again.

Momoi, Midorima, Kuroko, Aomine and Murasakibara watched as you bolted. They shrugged their shoulders, before one of them grins mischievously.

Of course, you didn't know that.

You ran past the halls, climbed the flight of stairs, and with the door in sight, you slammed it open.

*BANG*

"...Haa...haa.."

You lifted your gaze to search the rooftop, and you feel relieved when you spot a red tuft.

Akashi is there, and his eyes widen when he saw you.

Your eyes met, and you smile in relief and pure bliss. It's probably the loveliest smile you ever showed.

Akashi is rooted to the ground as you walked towards him. You took a deep breath and stared at him straight in the eyes.

"Akashi-kun." You started. "I've been doing some thinkings with my friends' help since then."

"..You really are a dear friend to me."

That much is true. It's not a lie and both you and Akashi know that.

"..but then I wondered.. Why are you different, unlike the rest?"

How your hearts thumped around him, how it was different.

"That's when I realised... I should have known.."

You smiled as you recall that one fateful hot day in your most hated season - Summer.

"..I saw you back in Summer.. I was doing some Summer works when I passed by the Gym, and saw basketball players practicing."

It was really hot that day, and you can't help but pity those students sweating buckets in Summer.

"My eyes...were attracted to one lone student..and I managed to meet his gaze.."
