Book 1 - Akashi Seijūrō (Chapter VII)

You can feel yourself flinching under Akashi's icy stare. No wonder it felt like Winter when it's just Autumn.

Now that you know Akashi is the cause of your out-of-season experiences, you didn't know why Akashi would do so.

What did you do wrong? Did you offend Akashi somehow? Why is he staring at you like that?

You shifted uncomfortably, averting your gaze to the sides, trying to contain the awkwardness around.

After a few more moments of silence, Akashi sighed as he finally ceased his icy stare - to which you're very relieved for.

Akashi then stares at you, it should be as usual, but did you detect something weird in his eyes?

"What do you think of me?"

................Okay...?

That was a bolt out of the blue. What you think of Akashi? It isn't entirely pleasant, but pleasantry will get you nowhere.

Truth or Dare? Truth it is.

"I..didn't think much of you, Akashi-kun.." You began weakly, almost a whisper. "Before, all I know about you is what I heard..."

You are never one for school idols, you have your own favourite bands and people who actually went on-screen.

Back then, all you know is that there's an outstanding first year that goes by the name of Akashi Seijūrō, the top-ranked student, the Vice Captain of Boy's Basketball Club and the President of Student Council.

Of course, that was back then. Before you saw Akashi that one day in the Summer. You saw him for the first time, and you locked eyes with him. It was your turn-point concerning Akashi, and you learned more of him since then.

"Then...after spending days in the Student Council.." You warily glanced up at Akashi. "...I start to believe..."

You paused as you averted your gaze. "...about you...being a devil's incarnate..."

Akashi's brows twitched slightly that you almost missed it. It seems he didn't expect to hear that from you?

"...When the incidents happened.." You shifted uncomfortably recalling the events. "I..thought Akashi-kun must be disappointed in me...that you condemn me.."

It was depressing then. You can only received the murmurs around you, and lived knowing you tarnished Akashi's reputation when his protects you from harm.

Then one day after that, Akashi came to you.

"..but you helped me...believed in me.." You felt yourself smiling softly. "Then Akashi-kun assigned me many works I'd never done or even consider doing before.."

When Akashi showed you that piles of paper, you immediately doubted if you're the right person for the job. Then when he gave you budgets and formulas, you wondered if Akashi is cr– made the wrong decision.

"It was hard at first." You confessed truthfully. "B-But, recently I realised I focused better..! Even my marks improved..!"
