It was finally warm enough to go outside in a lighter jacket than my bulgy green winter jacket. I looked like I was a adult size baby with that thing. Dillan said we should talk, but all he did was talk on his phone. We were in the mall, looking for new clothes since I'd had worn all of my dresses at least five times during our stay.
I really thought he changed. But now things were different, his phone was his love again. When we walked into stores, he'd walk out to the doorways and talk on the phone, leaving me looking at everything on the racks. I despised him again. Even after an entire two months together now, he can ignore me just like that. He was so charming. Note the sarcasm.
"You should stop using your mouth so often." I said coldly as he walked back over to the rack I was looking at. I kept my gaze on the colourful clothing items then glared up at him. He put his phone in his pocket and sighed, closing his eyes. He wasn't annoyed, angry, sad, he was calm.
"Hazel, please don't speak like that, we're in public." He whispered so only I could hear. He opened his eyes and looked down at me, I scoffed and shook my head, turning my gaze back to the rack. We were in a casual teenager store it seemed, even though we weren't teenagers anymore but it still seemed to be the only style I've ever had since I lived on the streets. "What can I do to make you forgive my mistakes?"
I let my eyebrows creased together then looked up at him, slowly turning so my whole body was facing him. "You can get the love of my life back and apologize to him for causing me to cheat on him."
"Hazel..." There it was, there was the sadness in those golden eyes, and there he was, his hand moved up to his forehead and rubbed it as if he was stressed. "It's not that simple to fulfill that request."
"Then don't talk to me." I muttered then walked over to another rack, moving the hangers as I looked at the new set of clothing. I listened as he sighed and then heard a thud, my eyes widened as I turned to him and gasped lightly when I saw him on his knees right in front of me. "Dillan, what the he-"
"Please forgive me." He pleaded, his eyes were desperate as they met my own, his hands took mine. They were warm. He was desperate. He was sad, he was warm. He didn't care about the customers that whirled around and looked over at us. I couldn't help but stare, my eyes still wide from that second of fear of him falling or hitting his head. "Please, Hazel Calse, I never should've forced the actions I did on you. The truth is, I love you and I was so confused with how I felt. But now I'm certain after that kiss. And I understand if you don't want that to happen... But I love you."
I stared down at him, then slowly let my hands grip his gently, helping him up to his feet. He stared down at me and I stared up at him as I moved one hand from his and moved it up to his cheek, cupping it gently. His cheek was warm. He was so warm like the fire igniting in my stomach. "I forgive you."
