I was drifting in a black atmosphere, an atmosphere with nothing but oblivion. It was nothing but black, like a black hole that I've entered with nothing inside. But worst of all, I was alone. I looked around in the darkness, my heart pounding loudly in my chest before there was a sound. A loud sound. A sound that was familiar to the sound of a crack of a raging roar of thunder during a thunderstorm, that's when I felt my heart stop.
My stomach dropped as I realized I was now falling down the bottomless pit of darkness. My hazel eyes widened as I tried to cry out, looking for one sound that was different than my own screams. But nothing was answering, only my own screams echoing back towards me as I continued to fall. Then, I felt my lungs closing in, causing me to begin gasping for air, my hands moving to my chest and grasped my t-shirt tightly as I tried the best I could to breathe. I was drowning, but there was no water.
My eyes fell shut, my vision not realizing any difference than before since all I had been seeing was darkness in the first place.
I quickly opened my eyes, feeling the sweat trail down my temple and down my nose as I breathed heavily. I then looked around desperately, my gaze falling on the mans hands that rested on my shoulder, belonging to the elder that sat beside me. I stare up at him for a few moments then try my best to calm down.
I closed my eyes continuously for seconds at a time. I moved my trembling hand up to my sweat glazed forehead and rubbed it, feeling a few tears that had formed in my eyes during my dream roll down my lightly freckled cheeks.
"Miss?" A stewardess asked softly as she walked down the row of seats to mine and the elders row. Her vibrant blue eyes looking worried as they met my own. "Miss? Are you alright?"
I moved my gaze to her then nodded slightly as I watched her get a cup of water and hand it over to me carefully not to get in the mans way. I took it, I didn't want it, but I figured it would be polite to take her thoughtfulness into consideration.
"Miss, we'll be descending in twenty minutes, there's a bag in your pouch. If you need any extra don't hesitate to press the help button." She said softly then continued down the rows of seats towards the back of the plane, which was around thirty-five rows back.
I nodded to myself then put the small table of the back of the seat in front of me down, resting my cup of water on it and then slowly moved my gaze out the window.
The sight of the rising sun never seemed so bright.
