I stirred awake by the sound of vibration against the oak wood of the bedside table on the side of which I was laying on. I was in Dillan's bed. And his arm was still around me, holding me, protecting me. I opened my eyes, squinting from the dim lighting of the room from the sun coming through the drapes of the window. I looked up and reached up to feel whatever was vibrating, it was his phone.
I felt the cold surface then slowly grasped it, bringing it down so it rested on the pillow, the screen facing me as I held it. I looked at the time first at the top of the screen. 11:37 am. Holy, I've never slept this much in years. I then moved my gaze down to the notification, it was a text message.
I looked at it then looked at the name, Adgar Abhuilo. At least it's not a girl... I think. My eyebrows creased together.
'Message: 1 Adgar Abhuilo'
I moved my thumb to the 'swipe here to unlock' at the bottom of the screen and did as it said. It moved to a 3x3 number set with four empty circles above. 'Enter Password'. Dammit. Who was this guy? The phone vibrated another two times and I pressed the 'cancel'. I looked at the notification at the top of the screen.
'Message: 3 Adgar Abhuilo'
I went to try again before I felt Dillans body stir against mine, his arm holding me tightly for a brief moment as if he was stretching. I felt him lift his head and I looked over my shoulder at him. "Who's Adgar?"
His eyes were tired like my own. He raised an eyebrow and then gently took the phone, sitting up and looked down at the screen. "When did he respond?" He asked quietly, it seemed serious.
"Just now... It woke me up." I said quietly, sitting up as well and looked up at him, worry was starting to enter my thoughts. What if it was a girl? What if he was texting her all that time? "Dillan, who is it?"
I watched as he slowly got out of bed and walked into the bathroom, shutting the door and locked it. I got out as well and went to the door, resting my ear against the door as quietly as I could and listened.
"Hello, Mr. Abhuilo." I heard, his voice was slightly muffled by the doors thickness. He was obviously trying to be quiet too. But now I was certain it was a man, Mr. Abhuilo. "No... No I don't. Well yes she's here. Yeah. I've been paying. It's in my suitcase. Yes, but-"
He seemed interrupted a lot, though it also seemed whoever was on the other ends responses were fast because of the time of the pauses before Dillan would speak. What was in his suitcase? "Sir, I... But she... I..." He sighed, and then, there was silence. "Yes sir. I'll see you tomorrow."
I quickly moved away from the door once I heard him hang up, standing far enough away so he wouldn't think I had listened. I hugged myself tightly as I watched him walk out. "Sorry... Business."
I stared at him then nodded slightly. Whoever this man was, I was going to find out, very soon.
