Oakley

As we near the glittering blue and silver sign of Shield, a smile forms on my face. The Vamps were blasting through my earphones as I draw their lyrics on the passenger window of my mom's white Jaguar XF.
"Oakley stop it. You're making the windows dirty."
"Sorry mom."
I smile, shaking my head. My mother is probably the only women in Shield who loves her car more than any of her jewelry.
It was snowing in my beloved town and true to its normal state, it was perfect. The snow covered everything perfectly, the sun was shining through a clear blue sky and the town center looked of course like it was from a movie.
That is why my family had gone on vacation this break to Switzerland because a person can only take so much perfection.
Once we reach our house, my mom tells me to take in the suitcases and that she would take the sleeping Willow inside.
The wind whips my dark auburn curls around, making me pull my hands into my jacket as I walk to the open car trunk.
As I was taking in my last load of suitcases, I slip on the hidden ice, falling on my rear end hard and making Willow's suitcase explode open.
Laughing erupted from behind me.
True to their nature, my cheeks turn cherry.
Sean Snow is still laughing when he comes over offering his hand.
"Shut up."
Smiling, he hulls me up. "Sorry Oakley but your face was priceless."
Shooting him a glace, I crouch down to pick up Willow's belongings that have flung themselves among the snow.
"Sean, I am really enjoying your company," I say, my words lace in sarcasm. "But why are you here?"
"To invite you to the New Year's Party at my house. My parents will be at your dad's hotel party, so I took the opportunity to have one for my beloved student body over for a good time. "
"I think a 'good time' for me is watching the ball drop from the comforts of my couch."
Rolling his eyes, he sighs. "You are such a nerd Oakley."
"I'm not denying it." I state attempting to close the stupid suitcase.
"You only have to go for like an hour and you live next door, so it's not that big of a deal."
There was a silence as I debated it. "Oakley, I will beg. Don't make me beg."
Biting my lip, I try to fix my internal debate.
Sean is puts his puppy face on and begins to kneel, but I stop him. "Fine. I might show up but that's all."
He nods his heads in approval. "Alright, a maybe is a good start, we'll work on it. See ya round."
Chuckling I wave bye to him, before heading inside.
When I get inside the suitcases were gone and my mother sat in the living room, watching some soap opera.
"You should go."
Really mom? Eavesdropping?
"Maybe."
With a manicured eyebrow raise, she looks up at me waiting for me to elaborate.
"Logan might be there and-"
