The Journey of Awkward Millionaires.

Chapter 5

Mara's POV

*September 5 2014*

After Oakley and I dropped Willow off at the Mayor’s house, we jumped back into my car and I start driving towards Logan’s house to pick up Gwen. After she called Oakley and I quickly got changed, I just threw what I wore to school today, a patterned mini skirt with black tights, and a burgundy top with a green cardigan.

 ................................

 We finally get to the mansion and I get an idea that will help us find her quicker. I turn to Oakley and say,“Let’s split up. I’ll do outside and you do inside. Text when you find her.”  She nods her head in agreement and we go our separate ways.

 I walk through the crowds of teenager to the back where the Bell’s giant pool area is.  When I get there I immediately start looking for Gwen. I walk around the pool to the grassy part of the backyard, then to the gazebo Logan’s family has, then back to the pool area. Gwen is still nowhere in sight.

 Walking along the pool, I pull out my phone to see if Gwen will answer her phone, but while I was dialing, I run right into someone and go tumbling backwards, right into the pool.

 “The water is way too cold.” Is my first thought, and I quickly resurface. When I open my eyes Landon Sparks is there holding a hand out to me. That’s when I realize he was the one I ran into; again. “Mara are you okay?” He quickly asks me as I am getting out. “Yeah, I’m sorry for running into you, again.” I say, he just lets out a chuckle and asks if my phone survived. I look down at my phone, and suddenly become really thankful that I decided to put on my waterproof case today! “Yeah it’ll be fine.” I say to him.

 He smiles at me, and starts to say something else, when Oakley runs up to us.“Hey, Mara. You okay?” she asks. “Yeah, just…you know. Wet.” I reply. “Great! Sweet! Let go.” She exclaims, grabbing my hand and pulling me through the crowd of people. 

Then Jaden Mosby somehow managed to find Gwen, and I guess everything turned out okay.
