Harakiri Dawn

"I don't know bout y'all but I'm not going down without a fight!" Claire uncoiled the whip which she had hidden around her waist and lashed it out hitting the cave wall. Something grabbed onto the other end of the whip and pulled Claire.

"Hey! Help me!" She screamed gasping for breath as she kicked around.

A weak flame lit up in Spider's palm, "August, Maggie, I'm overheating... I'm not of much use at this very moment however both of you need to listen very carefully. Maggie you are going to fly out of here as fast as you possibly can. Reach the top of the rock, you'll find my biplane, wait for us there till we signal you." he whispered rapidly, "August I want you to..."

"NO! STOP! BACK OFF YOU FUCKING CREEP!" cried out Claire.

There was no time to think, no time to wait and listen thought August; he followed Claire's voice and leaped into the darkness. August landed on the back of the locust and tightly held onto its scaly wings.

"Ouch!", Claire plopped onto the floor.

August wrapped his legs around the hard exoskeleton and curled his fingers over the bug's head. The locust span in circles and fluttered its wings trying to force August off, he felt its spiky arms tugging onto his clothes and skin, tearing them both like paper. Maggie whizzed by, the sound of her propellers grew loud and then faded away. The silent cave grew busy with August, Spider, and Claire trying to escape the monstrous Locusts. August let out a loud cry as an intense blue light persistently got brighter from his gem, *SPLOOSH* the locust's head exploded so magnificently that not a drop of blood or flake of skin was left to fall onto the ground. The decapitated body crashed down on top of August. The situation was hopeless, he could hear Spider and Claire already being dragged away yet he felt glorious. His newly found power was finally in his control, he was no longer a helpless speck of dust floating through a dusty world. Four pairs of pincers pulled August up off the ground, blood trickled down his arms and dripped off of his fingers.

August, Claire, and Spider sat in a dimly lit cell made out of dark iron bars stippled with rust and salt by age. Two locusts were in the room, they stood up right by the door, their wings hanging down by their legs, their honeycomb eyes made them expressionless, the other two locusts were somewhere outside pacing back and forth.

August's shirt rested in a wet red clump by his side, he rested slanted on the cave wall behind him, Claire stood firmly, her fingers curled white around two metal bars. She had her grey eyes locked onto the locusts, a furious glare was plastered across her face wrinkling her freckles up. Spider sat hugging his knees by a large round drain cover embedded into the ground; he was lost, watching the lapping waves below. For what seemed like an eternity, not a single word was muttered. Without warning, Claire suddenly spun around and picked up Spider, pinning his shoulders to the wall, her sweat soaked skin shined in the candlelight.
