The doors opened and everyone in the room turned to us.
My Grandma, mom, uncle Felix, Delilah,-
Wait.. what... Delilah.
Li why is this bi*** here? I growled.
I do not know.
A woman who resembles Delilah stood beside a median height man. He was tan with emerald green eyes and midnight colored hair that was a little wavy on top. His jaw line was covered by a neatly trimmed shirt beard. He looked at Tiana in disbelief as she did him. An older woman who was about Grandmas age sat beside him. Her hair was black and wavy w I think gray streaks and her eyes we're a light grey color. She looked at Tiana with a small smile.
We took a seat and Grandma T began to speak.
"Samuel you know why you're here. 16 years ago you and my daughter ran off to Miami. You unknowingly left her there pregnant. A few months ago I found her and told her that it would be good for her and her children to come here. These are your children. If you cannot infer that by looking then I have a team of scientists in a guest room ready to prove it. A lady came around with cotton swabs for him Liana and I.
"We should be done I'm a half hour then I will ring for you." The lady said to Grandma who nodded.
"So while we wait why don't we get to know each other. Twins this is Evelyn, Samuel's mother. " Grandma said
The old woman beside Samuel smiled at us warmly. Samuel on the other hand was shaking with anger. I knew the feeling.
"Teresa I do not want to play your childish games of trickery. I don't have any kids. I don't know what Elizabeth is capable but she would've told me or got in touch. These are not my children."
It stung but we remained quiet.
"Evelyn is that how you feel?" Grandma asked and she shook her head.
"No not really I think there is an extremely high chance of them being your children so I just called my own team of scientists to come and do the test. I am not saying you're a liar but anything could happen and two confirmations is better than one." She said swiftly.
My Grandma nodded but said nothing.
The news of another team made Samuel glare at his mother.
"You too! I swear. Look at these girls they are not my children and even if they were I wouldn't want them to be." He growled not looking at us.
His words hurt Liana almost more than me.
"Look I get it your shocked. Its understandable. But my mom isn't a liar and when these results come back saying you're my dad I want you to remember this. My first word was Mama. I learned how to ride a bike on my own. I held my sisters hand on the first day of school because my mom was breaking her back to make a way for us. My first heart break I cried for a week. Again without you. You're the other half of my DNA not my Daddy. Just a sperm donor."I finished hushing him into silence.
Evelyn watched me a small smile tugged at the corner of my mouth and my moms face was covered in smug pride. My Grandmas face was unreadable.
An awkward silence settled over the table. Under the table Liana and I held hands reassuringly.
But the smug look on Delilah and her mothers face was about to start a wild fire inside of me. The Ruby around my neck began to get warm. It started to shake and glow.
Everyone was looking at me. Its like a had no control of the sudden adrenaline rush that hit me. Beside me Liana was going through the same thing.
