When she said that my heart dropped because in the poem it says the two divine will save nightshade and at the end nightshades fate rests within, the joined hands of opposite twins.

Oh God.

"So that's us?" I asked. And Grandma nodded.

"Unfortunately it seems to be. It also seems you two are gifted with some seer capabilities. The ability to prophecize ran on your grandfathers side of the family." She whispered.

"Who is our grandfather?" Tiana asked

"He was the second oldest of a house from England. He died in their war a year after your uncle Felix was born." She said showing no emotion.

My mom looked down. I had concurred that she was older than uncle Felix because she was 34 and he was at most 32. When they talked mom would claim how she was older so she won. That means mom didn't grow up with a father either like us.

"Girls go get ready for dinner. I've decided we're going out tonight I want to enjoy a meal at Olivia's tonight. Its the best Italian restaurant in town." She said standing.

"Wear something nice. As in a dress." She called at us.

I walked into my small closet and looked through dresses. I decided on the soft lavender one. It had long sleeves of see through lace and it was long and fitting for my lean figure. I loved how the bottom of the dress didn't pool around my feet at all because I was clumsy with stuff like this. My heels were 4 inches tall making me tower over Tiana whom was dressed to impress. She wore a sea foam colored dress with a gold band at her waist. She would have to have a wrap of some kind because of how cold it was due to the split on the left side of the dress. She wore her hair in a ponytail making it fall in wavy locks between her shoulder blades. She wore her diamond studs. We both wore our Ruby pendants because they gave us comfort.

We haven't eaten anywhere nice in a while. Tiana said.

Yeah. Last time we did was last year when mom got her job promotion. We ate at that one place where they served fish eggs.  I said making Tiana giggle.

We walked down to the double doors seeing mom and Grandma. Mom wore her blonde hair down and a yellow dress that ascentuated her bodice all the way to the floor.

Drop Dead Gorgeous. Tiana said and I almost nodded but then remembered we didn't tell anyone we could mind read so I kept quiet.

Grandma wore a deep garnet colored dress that started to sparkle as it got longer. It was flowy and comfortable looking but was extremely beautiful.

We walked out and a limo awaited us. I looked at Grandma who smiled.

"We shouldn't drive dressed like this girls." She said happily.

We all piled into the limo and Tiana began conversation.

"Grandma how does being a Phoenix protect Nightshade?" Tiana asked

"OK think of the houses like this. Your father Samuel is the King. The house of Elk are a council that can override his decisions if need be. The Wolfe house would be the ambassadors how represent Nightshade by going to the other 5 cities. We are military commanders. If war were to break out we would lead the attacks. The Sphinx are our top warriors and the people in Nightshade are our soldiers. The Serpent house are spies and assassins." She finished and we nodded in understanding.

"Are we betrothed to someone like Adrian and Delilah?" I asked her and she shook her head.

"No. I didn't do that to your mom and I wouldn't do that to you. Love is a powerful force and it is much needed in this kind of life because you'll need comfort when times get rough and if you have no one you'll tear yourself apart." She said. And I nodded with relief.
