Jackson POV

Since dad went to rehab. Again. I had to move back with my mom because she won't let me stay with my dad's new wife.
Sure my dad sounds like the bad guy here, but my mom is the fucking crazy one. Ever since the divorce my mom has made it her personal mission in life to destroy my dad.
She constantly threatens a custody battle, she calls the police. Anything to mess up his life.
The crazy part is she wanted the divorce, she cheated on my dad. So I'm not sure what her damage is, all I know is I hate being living with her. But this time it's gonna be even worse because she moved since last time, so not only am I loosing the like two friends I have here, but I'll have to adjust to a new school and attempt to make new ones.

I guess I could describe myself as. Socially inept. I'm not very good with communicating and overall being a functioning member of society really. So in compilation with my status as 'fresh meat' and my terrible social skills make me a perfect target for bullies. This theory of my was quickly proven correct.
After being dropped of at school I stumbled around the halls with my schedule trying to find my locker, without much success.
Of course I'd get lost, what's new. I stopped and stood by a water fountain until I worked up the nerve to ask someone for directions. I settled on asking a girl standing by a locker near the fountain.
After a few moments of fumbling my speech I got something out to the effect of 'can you tell me where my locker is?'
She very politely explained how to find it. I was about to shuffle away when a voice bellowed behind me.

"Newbies got some balls talking to my girl like that, right boys?" The voice said from behind me.
Shit. Fucking shit. I looked down and muttered something like 'sorry'. But this guy was not having it, he slammed my books out of my hands and some of his buddies pushed me to the ground.
They all left laughing and I scurried to my first class, it was too late to find my locker now.

I found my first class with ease and it seemed I was early. There were very few other students. I quickly found my way to the back of the class and sit down and pick at my nailbeds, its a bad habit.
After a few minutes the rest of the class seemed to walk in all together as the Bell rang. Mr. Haddox began the whole first day of school speech and got about halfway through it when the door opened and another student walked in.
Hes tall and had headphones on his head and a stern look on his face. Obviously a rough morning. He found his way to the back of the room and sat next to me. My whole body tensed, after this morning I was not ready to deal with anymore people.
But I soon realized his music was so loud he probably didn't realize I was next to him.

Mr. Haddox started taking attendance and soon glared at the guy next to me and said his name a bit louder than he had everyone else's.

"Griffin Taylor" he called out. When the guy next to me finally took off his headphones Mr. Haddox scolded him and returned to attendance at which point he calls my name.

"Jackson Torres"
Of course, alphabetically my name was next. I quietly raised my hand hoping not to gain much attention. The rest of that class, and the next four for that matter I spent buried in my new book.
